Amazing!

P.S.  It wasn't very nice of you to shoot the Engineer immediately after he has healed you.  :)

Since the game doesn't sync any events to clients (as least, thats why I think clients get really bugged), I don't think they ever planned to have the atlas drivable. Maybe too OP, or people would compete for it, or maybe performance reasons. Or maybe they just cut it from MP and removed the replication events for performance.

Clients can join the match, but on most maps the camera will fly off outside the map. On London for example the camera flies off like 200 miles to the point where you names all overlap each other from anywhere on the map.

On Glacier its in the corner of the room opposite of the spawn-in point. But if you move left it flies off behind the cockroach glass that appears on the hazard version. And sometimes it moves behind the counter at the long stairs.

So I wouldn't let your clients get in. They also don't see you in it or climbing into it. You just stand in front of it and then the atlas starts to drive around and walk fast.

Hey, I had this happen yesterday!  (Mgamerz, I think you were there.)  And I made the mistake of getting into the Atlas, and got stuck out by the landing pad on white.  Could turn and shoot, but not move or get out, and finally had to quit the match.  :(  Sorry for leaving you guys shorthanded, and lesson learned...

Yep, the guide is done now.

Also the video is missing audio cause I missed a setting in YT, it's reverting audio again right now.

If you are a client and get into the atlas, sit tight until the wave ends or your atlas blows up. You should be returned to normal.

I'd been wondering if the foolish primitives engineers would heal a hijacked atlas.  Nice.

As an unmodded client, if you try to get in:

1. Nothing will happen.  Then you will die.  (The host will see you climb in, and then die.)

2. Your camera will switch to a fixed location somewhere on the map, about an inch or two above the floor.  You may or may not be able to see the Atlas you hijacked from this location.

3. You can still move the Atlas, even though you may not be able to see where you're going; and you can shoot, but your shots are practically impossible to aim and don't seem to do any damage.  (The host will see your corpse riding around inside a very confused and ineffectual Atlas.)

4. When the wave ends the Atlas will self-destruct and you will auto-rez back where you attempted the hijack.

Is it strictly a client/host thing?  Would a client who also had the mod be able to hijack effectively?

Yeah. We've tried with clients on the mod, it didn't work any better. It's a replication issue.
