Hey Guys,

I am not 100% sure, but almost; I am currently trying to create a Worst Case scenario with as much gone bad, as many people dead as possible etc., and I have encountered a potential bug (at least based on my own recollection on playing Origins).

I have set my Warden to die killing the Arch Demon. After that I set Alistair to either end up as a drunk or be executed. Both reported a conflict and required my Warden to end the game alive and well. As far as I remember the possibilities, this shouldn't be a conflict - am I remembering wrong or?

Did you recruit Loghain ?

No, executed Loghain. But it should only take 1 warden to kill the Arch Demon, and if I do that with the Warden, then neither Loghain nor Alistair is needed. I am fairly certain this was allowed within the game

You can't get rid of both Loghain or Alistair, the game forces you to take at least one of them (for gameplay reasons, and also so that you don't accidentally lock yourself out of a major decision). So it's not a bug, it's exactly how it's supposed to be.

Ah ok, I must remember incorrectly then. Thanks for the clarification.

You can't get rid of Alistair and Loghain because of the story plot, so it forces you to keep one of them alive. Thinking on this from another perspective it would be possible to kill both of them and the Warden gets to kill the Archdemon in the end but that's not the case.

From a story perspective there was no real reassurance that the Warden will make it and kill off the Archdemon without the risk of getting killed or overwhelmed on the way or in the fight with the Archdemon, so there had to be a reserve for the worst case scenario. Oddly enough you can leave Alistair behind to defend the gates and go on your own with a different party to kill of the Archdemon.

Interesting, but I get it from a story mechanics point of view, didn't know you could leave Alistair behind at the gates, that's kind of funny to be honest. Currently thinking killing Alistair and keeping Loghain alive might be the best choice then - for a worst case scenario world state.
