For those who had read Dragon Age: Asunder, at the end of the book, Cole infiltrates Lord Seeker Lambert's room and holds a knife to his throat. And according to World of Thedas, Volume 1, he had disappeared shortly after annulling the Nevarran Accord (the agreement that created the Circle of Magi and put the Seekers and Templars under Chantry control, but the latter had severed ties, putting the lyrium trade that controls them in question). Who thinks that Lambert will show up in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

(Personally, I want him to turn up so I can beat him and force him to add that I won)

Probably dead. If he's alive though, he'll have my full support.

If he's dead, I'm happy. If he's still alive, I'll be more than happy to kill him.

Well, Lambert's gone and Cole's here, so almost certainly he's dead.

What if Lambert surrendered?

What if Lambert surrendered?

Lambert, surrender to a demon? I find that monumentally unlikely.

Hold him until the war's over, then set up a series of trials for crimes against humanity/elfanity committed by the templars. I doubt I'd be the sole voice in determining the sentencing, but my recommendation would greatly depend on how much prison space we have.

What crimes? Honestly sounds like means to get out of your, "I don't kill people who don't try to kill me," rule. Everyone, except Templars and non-mages, deserve absolute forgiveness.

Launching a war against the Circle, condemning Rhys for something he didn't do, launching an attack on the mage conclave beforehand, anything he did to enforce the laws of Annulment or Tranquility, and probably a bunch of other things that weren't covered in the book.

Also, you're forgetting the rather high number of mages that get killed automatically throughout the series, none of whom I feel terribly forgiving toward (except Orsino).

All legal. Considering the evidence pointed to Rhys, he had all rights to detain him to complete the investigation,

So not only things that he is given rights to do, he should be condemned for, but also for things you think he did. In fact, you just claimed that you wanted to kill him for enforcing laws he's told to enforce. That's the opposite of a crime.

Lol, you've come  up with a reason to forgive almost every mage in game if given the chance. You even tried to come up with one to forgive the murderer of your character's mother. Talk about double standards.

All legal.

Yes to the second, no to the first. Declaring war on the mages was not legal, since he directly opposed the Divine who is his boss

True, I forgot we hadn't established a treaty yet. Oh well. I'll advocate for mercy, then: permanently strip every last member of the Order of weapons, armor, and lyrium beyond the bare minimum to avoid going crazy. Then comes the more difficult task of ensuring that they can all be monitored...

I killed the slaver mage Danzig but allowed the nonmage slaver leader who'd captured Feynriel to leave (after scaring him with Varric), so...

Totes legal. After they broke away from the Chantry. The mages are the ones breaking the law, man. Not that the Templars get a pass, mind you.

The templars would only have authority to do so if they were acting under the Chantry's name.
