Fortunately he gets plenty of opportunities.

I remember Ashley talking too much in my game. I think Ashley/Kaidan are given a priority is squad dialogue for some reason (probably to make up for ME2)

Vega as the first one cos I like him, and cos he's hot as hell
Also a good tank with the Harrier or the Typhoon. Then Garrus. Same reasons, although my hetero-Shep may change him for Ash.

What, so does the order in which you choose your squaddies determine who says what? I never knew, I always just picked whoever I decided on first.

In ME2 there was both an "order of selection priority" and a "squad mate in general priority." For instance, to get Kasumi's line about "Reapers" when talking to Avina, she has to be picked first, and neither Jacob nor Miranda can be on the squad. When talking to the Biotic God, the squad mate you pick first will get the most lines. In particular, if you want to hear Kasumi say "Aw, can we keep him" you need to pick her first. Also, the first squad mate you pick for your final team on the SM will be the one that Shepard catches as they slide off the platform. They will also be the squad mate that pulls Shepard up into the Normandy.

Too bad he/she isn't able to that if he/she is the only squadmate left alive

Ah, ok. I knew about the general squad mate priority, but not the selection priority. Cool, if I reinstall I may give more thought to that.
