So, according to 'shinobie602' from Neogaf he/she has a friend who is currently playing DA:I as a reviewer and all the feedbacks from that friend have been positive. Also, he mentioned that DA:I reviews' embargo is a week before release date which is 11th of November.

I personally see this as a good sign, I just think early embargo usually shows that developers or publishers are confident in their game. There has been some cases where games' review embargo was set right before the release date or the day of release to prevent any damage in sales because of poor review score.

I already preordered mine yesterday and I am going to love it no matter what other people would say, but it'd be pretty cool to see this game getting a good reviews and recognition from both reviewers and gamers.

That's one way of looking at it. I only hope reviewers don't take that approach or it will be DA2 all over again. :P

No sense in keeping the embargo later than that with EA Access starting 11/13.

Excited to hear everyone's thoughts.

I personally don't trust reviewers or anyone who does any type of reporting, no matter what others say will judge for myself.

You're right lol, although I doubt DA2 or ME3's situation will happen so bluntly this time around.. or will they?

If the review embargo really is a full week before release then Bioware is SUPER confident in DAI. A lot of companies don't allow reviews until after/on release. If this is true then it is a great sign that DAI will be amazing.

How much though? Better is not enough for a such anticipated game especially after bioware's recent performance

Looks way better than DA2. Still. I don't trust reviewers anymore. I will read comments from people who have played the game, from now on. I probably won't have time for that with this game, though. Buying it around the release day.

To be perfectly honest, as long as it doesn't repeat DA2's faults, it will probably be lauded by critics as the return of BioWare. What is better you ask? Varied level design, actual exploration, more customization options for all party members, a believable and immersive story, among others. From what little I've seen in the promotional material (bear in mind it is promotional) they seem to have addressed all these.

Reviews are near worthless, they seem more important to the industry then the consumer. If you are unwilling to take the risk on the game, reviews are typically the worst thing you can use now-a-days, with lets plays and streams readily available. If you are afraid of spoilers, then ya, I understand not wanting to watch a lets play, but then you better find 1 or 2 reviewers opinions you normally agree with and judge it based on that.

Or just wait till there is enough aggregate, and look at the metacritic user review if it doesn't get trolled.

World's so ****** big"

"Filled with puzzles"

"load of sidequests"

"Story seems more interesting. Hard to tell at this point ofc, but intro felt better than previous games"

Image quality is crisp on PS4, no screen tearing. Framerate holds up well but very slight dips during a ton of onscreen action.

Reiterating the world is massive, tons to see and do.

'It's like a revelation compared to DA2'

'Just the first area (Hinterlands/Redcliffe) already feels bigger and more interesting than all of DA2 and there's a ton of stuff to do'

Also told me there's a ton of dialogue options, so it's not toned back like ME3

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I like reviews merely for the fact that they offer a more professional viewpoint than a random joe. I don't care about their final verdicts. Also, I look for consistency. To use a random example, if 20 reviewers hate a game because they think the PvP is brutally difficult I might A) give credence to that opinion since 20 reviews all agreed and B ) Decide that might be the reason I want to buy the game. I won't just give it a pass because "it got a low score".

Reviews are tools. You shouldn't let reviews decide what games you buy, but aside from playing them yourself you can sift a lot of useful information out of them to save $$$. Or you can, you know, "acquire" them as a demo before cashing in I guess.

EA did with this on The Sims 4 until release date for obvious reasons, but DA:I is going to be great I can feel it in my private parts

I personally disagree, I find the average joe is much better informed and congruent to my views on gaming. Game press typically views things(specially combat mechanics) very differently, from my experience, outside of a very select few. I agree reviews can be used as tools, but in all my years I've never paid any attention to reviews and have had no problem not picking stinkers, just by going on forums if I am unsure.

To each their own, but I find reviews to be very unneeded as a tool.

Good scores would help build the hype and get them a few more sales.

DA:I has largely been flying under the radar compared to games like Ass Unity.

They had 100% (literally), more time to work on DAI than DA2, I doubt they're going with the samey environments this time, and from what we've all seen, it's quite varied.

Plus, mounts. Mounts, man.

edit: anyhoo, bubsy seems to remember DA2 getting good reviewer scores, and bad player feedback. They're not always synonymous.

its better this way, hype leads to unrealistic expectations, which leads to angry yelling when those expectations are not met. If its good, itll spread by word of mouth like DAO.

Good news. I want to see the good/bad in reviewers minds before i purchase such as thoughts on multi player and game length.

I've come to realize that I just can't trust the general consensus of game forums of any sort. Too much hyperbole and oft times far less objectivity.

Just the same, once I've invested in a franchise, I'm not likely going to concern myself with reviews before I buy. I'd be curious to see what reviews say, but after seeing how much my opinion of DA2 clashed with what I've read before I bothered buying it, I don't think I'm listening to anyone ever again.

Something I wrote a while back concerning this very subject...

Having said that, DA3 will be more successful than DA2, no question about it. Why? The paradigm shift has been carried out with DA2. In that respect it was a complete success, it put a 180-spin on the franchise so that fans won't be surprised when DA3 retains some (or all) of the elements of DA2. All you need to do now is incorporate some of the elements from DAO that fans have been most vocal about (without going back to DAO), tweak some of the elements from DA2 (dialogue wheel, inventory, etc.), and you got yourself a promising title in the form of DA3. This is what's happening with ME3, it's combining elements from both previous games and it's one of the most anticipated games of 2012.

There might be some inertia at first, some silent battle of wills to say no to DA3. But then footage will come out, trailers, details of what's in and what's out, and you might just wonder, "it looks rather promising." Hope springs eternal, guys. Once we let it into our heads that it can be good, all the game has to do is prove to us it's great.

I see very little objectivity in game impressions in general. However, if I'm not pre-ordering a game I always let the game sit out long enough until the hype dies down. Pretty easy weeding out the hyperbole from the not. But I dont find game press reviews objective normally, at all, either. They are normally quite bad at what I find to be fairly simple tasks. It's why if I'm really unsure about a game, I'll check a stream out, much more helpful.
