Game Reviews are meaningless when gaming journalist and developers are in bed with one another (literally in some instances). The only way to determine whether a game is right for you or not is to look at the features it has, determine the overall story, plot, and goals, and see if you'd enjoyed the game based off the demos you have seen or played.

DAI is essentially the best elements of DAO and DA2 mixed together with a bit of Skyrim on the side. It's up for you to determine if that's a mix you believe you'd appreciate or not. Based on first impressions alone, I'd give DAI mid-to-high 80s if a numerical value must be tied to a game to determine its credibility.

I will probably read every review there is waiting for this game. Won't be able to stop myself.

Yeah, sorry, but there is a world of difference between what reviewers write and what the game could end up being.  ME3 had no review scores below 8/10, most were 9-10/10s.  Did it mean the game deserved it? Nope.  Sorry, awful ending really ruined that game. Some glaring inconsistencies or railroads in the plot didn't help either Reviewers didn't care.  BSNers did.  When the crap hit the fan and the forums exploded, you knew that something went horribly wrong.

There was nothing objective about BSN's review of ME3 , sure the ending was terrible and it stung for those of us who played the whole trilogy but the game minus the ending was fantastic , it had great moments throughout , got you hooked all the way.  if anyone who hadnt played it and read BSN back then they would think the game was bad which it  was NOT , not even close.

So yes reviews in general ( whether's they're from "professionals" or other players ) shouldnt mean anything to anyone , you should judge the game for yourself

Better yet, wait until other people have played the game and the take in as many player reviews as possible. You'll get some junk sure, but mostly you'll get legitimate ideas on how game. Game site reviews are nice for first impressions, screens, tidbits etc, but we live in a socially connected world. There's no reason to live by game journalists alone. Failing that, find a company you trust and stick w/ them.

Oh yes, the old 'corporate overlords are corrupting society' gag.

If you make thousands or tens of thousands of dollars on click through buying of games, you have a motive not to slate said games.   It is entirely rational behaviour.

Reviews are near worthless, they seem more important to the industry then the consumer. If you are unwilling to take the risk on the game, reviews are typically the worst thing you can use now-a-days, with lets plays and streams readily available. If you are afraid of spoilers, then ya, I understand not wanting to watch a lets play, but then you better find 1 or 2 reviewers opinions you normally agree with and judge it based on that.

Or just wait till there is enough aggregate, and look at the metacritic user review if it doesn't get trolled.

I agree. Granted I want to read a review before I take the plastic off the game, I hope one of the Let's Players I watch will have at least the first hour of the game up to see. I'm still playing caution until the day it releases.
