If i go human male I will go Feanor, if dalish I will go Fingolfin. These are two of my favorite names from the Silmarillion. I love all of J.R.R Tolkien's works and if you are a big lord of the rings fan I would highly recommend the Silmarillion.

For some unknown my first option will usually be a Latin name. If I don't find a Latin name that fits, I'll search for common ones. But if I can't come up with a name, I'll just name him Altair Shepard.

If I make a Male Qunari Mage then it will be Issqun, but if its a female (with is most likely) then it could be Kasaanda, Korra, Assaranda, Asaara, Atashi, Kata, or Katara.

Any other names I've come up with before I've discarded or forgot so I may just go with default names for a while until I can think of something.

Female elven mage: Niria Lavellan and she is probably going to be necromancer

I have no idea yet what name i will give for my female Qunari and i haven't decided that is she going to be archer or mage

Either a Dwarf or Qunari male named Krothar. There must always be one!

 

The rest will be named on the fly. I tend to look at the names of other things when I name my characters. My best example of this would be when trying to name a Blood Elf in WoW, I split a Toblerone. Leaving me with Tobl and Erone. Thus, Erone was born!

 

My Night Elf Xanit was born after returning from a holiday where I saw an advertisement for Xanit Hospital Internacional.

 

Doesn't always work, but when it does I tend to be happy with the results.

I generally play humans, so Ichabod for my male and Hortencia for my female (same as my future children).  I'm considering a male qunari but I haven't decided on a name yet.

I originally planned to play a male human, but since the announcement of Alix Wilton Regan there has been no other possible option than a female Dalish mage. I'm trying very hard to resist the temptation of naming her Goal. If I succeed at resisting that temptation, then I'll probably name her Aine.
