Also Gaider spoke out multiple times about that aswell and shot it down time and time again even going as far as saying that if they did that they would have to create different games for those who did and didn't do it. And according to him that's not something they can and will not do since it goes against multiple things including player agency.

Sure they said that, and in this case I believe it, but there are multiple precedences for player choices being made irrelevant in order to unify the story. Take the boons, for instance. Those were pretty important from a player's point of view, yet they won't result in a divergence.

So while I definitely wouldn't expect the OGB - or its absence - to be made canon, since it has explicitly been said that they won't, the developers have been using double standards when it comes to these things.

Between games and books. Each story creates more questions , then answers. Likely no one will ever see DA end to there liking. A lot of effort has been made (Keep) to bond the series together including the soon to released "The Last Court". With this effort on the Dev's part, I would hope for some conclusion, end game to work towards Answers instead of questions, even if I don't like the answers. Its the third season of a TV series, just don't end it with a cliffhanger and cancellation . Please.
Decisions like Alstair and Leliana being hardened are minor, But OGB was a big end game factor, Alstair part is a big end game factor, including his role from the books. Mariac father with dragon blood, Fiona ? elf mage, conceived in the place where Archdemons are born, Yavana and Flemeths involvement with his birth- To many questions ,not to be answered. etc..

I wouldn't mind if they made it canon, but for the sake of avoiding the annoying rants on how choice doesn't matter, best leave it alone.

Doesn't that sort of approach mean that most stories won't see much more than a glorified cameo rather than risk upsetting the 'fans'?

Could "an" OGB be made canon?  I think so, absolutely.  What I don't think could be made Canon is who fathered the OGB.  Too many different outcomes; the PC, Alistaire (sorry if misspelled), Loghain.  Maybe some other guy- it is possible for it to be canon.  Will it happen?  Not sure.  If the question is can it be made canon, and the father is limited to choices from DA:O then no, I don't think it will ever be canon.

I had a human baby on my first playthough (my character not myself).

It would be far easier to make OGB an optional side plot (depending on whether you did Dark Ritual) or simply kill him off than make him an important character in game.    Even if they were to do so, it wouldn't be until he had effectively reached adulthood.     However, the default backstory is that the Warden did the ultimate sacrifice, so I very much doubt the OGB will ever be canon.

Ofc they got a plan. They cant make it cannon cause you could choose to not have the baby in origins, but for those who did choose it:

(Sorry dunno how to do the spoiler thingie, but there's spoilers in the next paragraph)

Even tho the warden wont show up in Inquisition, he will at least be refered too, talked about, most likely with morrigan/leliana (you could choose to go thru the eluvian with Morrigan in Witch Hunt, so im sure she knows where the Warden is if you chose that path). Also, it seems a leak from a premature art book release in Russia shows an image of both Morrigan and her son, implying the OGB will be adressed in Inquisition. Im not saying we will get to know and see everything there is to know, but we will at least learn something new about it in Inquisition. And well... Its Morrigan... We know that whatever she is planning is related to her son (or her son related to her plan) and whatever she is doing in Inquisition will have something to do with it. As good as she might be (after a full love relationship with the Warden) she is still a Witch of the Wilds, with mistery plans that compete with Flemeth in secrecy and mistycism.

The OGB is probably too good a plot to be dismissed with just a few mentions and im sure it will be important in future games. I dont think the old gods are really dead, even if the archdemons have been defeated by Wardens. Somehow all of them (or at least a few) have survived either in the fade or by possessing other darkspawn. In order to become a Warden you need a drop of archdemon blood to do the Joining ritual, so where were the wardens when the first archdemon was defeated (Dumat) if there were no previous archdemons to get blood from?

Nope Dumat was defeated but he return thanks of his power and spirit, still his first body was slain and used to take the archedemons blood

For the new players is better by far the ultimate sacrifice, because the devlopers eliminate any efforts regardin morrigan, warden ant the ogb

You are most likely right.

Once the tevinter Imperium realized they couldn't defeat the Old Gods by normal means they probable experimented with blood magic and used the blood of the dead body of dumat while he grew in a darkspawn host.
