Hi guys and gals,

I have this problem: http://meforums.biow...27&sp=0#6994780

Since I can't login to reply to the thread mentioned above (Action not allowed. wtf?? oO), I thought I'd open up a new thread on the -apparently- new forums.

I left the splash screen there for over 15 minutes once and nothing changed.
I somehow managed to get the game running by installing it manually. But like the idiot I am, I tried to import my old savegames. Result: same problem as before.
Now, even the manual instal doesn't help at all, even after manually uninstalling the game and ereasing every entry in the registry with "Mass Effect" in it. What in the name of the Lord??

Please don't tell me that I have to defrag my HD or something -.-
Help of every kind is heartily appreciated.

So wait a minute, you're saying it works as long as you don't put your old Save folder in?

Try removing your Profile.MassEffectProfile file to another location - you can keep the old save and export files. You'll likely need to look up any Shepards under "All Careers" if this works.

No, I meant something else: after I backed my old savegames up, I deleted the whole bioware folder and uninstalled Mass Effect completely. Then I installed Mass Effect manually and it worked. So I played the game from the beginning with a new carreer (=> new Bioware folder) and I finished the game. Then I thought "Why, now you can play the game again with your old Shepard and import some badass Paragon to ME2"

That was a bad idea, because I got the same error than before (splash screen etc.). So I thought "Well, seems like my old savegame's screwed but nothing a uninstall can't handle." I uninstalled the game, deleted everything related to Mass Effect and installed it again manually. Same error persists, even if I don't have any savegames at all. I think I tried to reinstall the game maually for... let's say 5 times and the error's still there. There's just that splash screen and nothing else happens.

Well, since nobody seems to be able to help me, may I know how to contact the support? That EA-Tool doesn't help me in any way...

Oh I won't give up so easily, Bioware!

I might be pesky for you but I don't give a single damn!

I made the game running (I literally purified the registry). Again, for once. I just played about an hour or a bit more and saved. Then I turned off my computer, left the house for about 5 hours (notice that my computer was turned off all the time!) and after I come back home, I try to start the game and guess what? The same ****ing problem occurs! Hell ****ing yeah! I like that.

So, now I think that the savegame or the process of creating one somehow ****s my copy up. One may now think that removing the savegame would solve the problem, right? Wrong. The problem persists.

I want, I demand an explanation. I payed money to play this game so I have a right to expect support from the creators of the game! Or at least anyone.

I heard that I can also download the game via the EA Download Manager but if I try to run the EADM, the following error occurs:

Image IPB

That means in English: "EADM tried to open an external application but the path was not valid. Please try again or reinstall EADM"

I did both and neither helped.

Google doesn't help.

As you can see at my style of writing, I am rather pissed off at the moment. Can't judge me for that
