How many of you would enjoy the codex more if entries could be marked as unread?

Sometimes it's nice to read a specific entry, but scrolling down marks each entry as previously read.
I enjoy the lore, but trying to remember what was read and unread isn't always easy as the game progresses.

I think the very best would be if the codex could come in alphabetical order, makes a specific codex easier to find :)

Definitely. I enjoy reading the lore but sometimes I don't want to have to stop before a battle to read them and then later on (if I decide not to stop and read them) forget which ones I've read, which ones updated etc.

Its a nice feature BUT its something that should be a low priority in terms of tweaks and fixes.

In my opinion at least.

Sort options, lots of games have those

In DA2, the creature codex entries were in alphabetical order. :)

It would be nice if a codex meant something. Nice to read but what does it benefit the Inquisitor in-game? What is the in-game function of the Inquisitor reading the codex? I mean, my character swings his/her sword and he/she hits something in-game. He or she uses his or her brains and ..... crickets.

What about if my character/me read a codex about gunpowder? Right now I am saying: that's nice. But what if I get the option, after picking up the codex and reading it, to craft explosives? I am not advocating for gunpowder in the game. I am advocating for codex relevance to the role-playing nature of the game. There is a current topic on the forum about the sexualized walk of all the female cartoons about how "realistic" that physical walk represents realism. So I ask: why should the game play equally well with an ignorant character as with an informed erudite character?

So, speaking about realism, where is the option to play an ignorant/illiterate character? Where is the option to reward codex reading in-game by playing a literate character? Shouldn't the difference be based on the codex being read (or unread)?

One of the features of the Dragon Age: Origins game were the codices about creatures and magic spell combinations. Of course, you had to find the spell combinations yourself, blindly, and you had to encounter the creatures before you received a codex entry but the idea of the codex worked. DA3 takes this away by the... realistic and immersive... call outs....

Probably too late to fix that….  [crickets]

ps

OP, your topic might be read more if it were better labelled. I thought you were reporting a bug about this forum. I had no idea what you wanted to say from your topic's title. I was surprised I had an interest in what you were saying - and I thought it important enough to comment on. Maybe you might want to change the label of your topic for more readers?

One of the most annoying things about DAO for me, playing on a console, was that if the codex entry had to be scrolled down to because it's off the screen then it would stop flashing when I got to it. Sometimes I had no idea what was new and what wasn't. My preference would be for me to have to press a button to mark them as read.
