Anyone able to rank up the inquisition? If so can you tell me how many inquisition perks you get per rank?
![]()
So I'm safe with that spoiler although some will be in for a treat
Good point.
...but it would have been nice if our character could flirt with anyone (with good and bad consequences)...now I am doubtfull...
...hey my manly female Qunary needs her manly hair!
As for the tac-cam. Did you mean that they do what they want after you have told them to use specific skill or do they just ignore you altogether? (which will be....really cool...and you need to be nicer!)
Well you are in luck because that is all the female qunari gets, lol. I will be rocking the mohawk for mine.
They ignored me all together *shrugs* I probably didn't do it properly which makes me look like a dumb-ass cos tac-cam isn't that hard.

Is play 6 hours of the game really woth the money to spend on this ea thing
Like I tell everybody. Better to drop $30 for the year than $5 for 6hrs of Inquisition a month. EA Vault has a reasonable selection.
I'm not doubting the variety in the ea Vault it the fact that this is a demo that we can play and judge to see how we like itLike I tell everybody. Better to drop $30 for the year than $5 for

Its awsome the wait is making me crazy ![]()
For me the EA accedd is worth it because of the free games you get (easy google if you want to see which).
....and that unlike gold it works for me (gold dont work because I am non supported country...although for a month it bugged and worked
).
And 6 hours to try all (except with specializations ofcourse...because we dont start with them) the classess....might be yes and no:)
1) Yes because it is enought time if you just choose an already existing face and type name fast.
2) And no because it only allow you to experiense the 'prologue'. As in - warriors (maybe rogues too?) will seem very powerfull and mages somewhat weak.....and that will probably turn around with ~10 levels.
...speaking about specialisations: anyone have unlocked some?
As for the tac-cam you will have to fiddle with the tactics when the game come (I suspect it's too late now:) ).
...or turn them off altogether...although that will be pretty bad on consoles I imagine:)
Oh this bring me to something I didn't like with tac-cam. When you select to control another character the cam automatically centers on them. Which is strange...and annoying....and did I say strange? It was a toggle(or just missing ) in DAO....
Edit: Bioware had one very nice toggle in BG2(and BG probably): the ability to turn off AI fast. I don't know why they choose to don't have that in DA....'hold' can serve similar function, but it is not the same... ![]()

If you haven't already bought the game, yes.
$5 to play 6 hours early, then you get a 10% discount on purchasing the game... which is more than $5... so you save money in the end.
As long as you cancel Access before the first month is up, anyway.

If you want to play the games in the vault and your planning on buying the digital version (with 10% off) then yeah even without the six hours trial of DAI it was probably worth the one months (cancelled auto renewal) charge. Playing for six hours has taken the edge off for me, I'm still counting the days but now I'm countng the days knowing how much enjoyment I'm going to get out of this game rather than hoping.
I should point out as well that buying digitally is the only way to buy the deluxe version in the UK apart from Game, who I've avoided since they nearly went out of business and with the discount its actually a tiny bit cheaper as well.
I've thought about this a lot since I finished my 6 hours...
Was the EA Access worth it? Yes.
The discount on the game covers the price so it's pretty much a no brainer.
It has been presented as a trial of the game not a demo.
But in many ways I am now treating it as a demo.
I can of course continue my game save but I don't want to.
Why?
Whilst I played the game as leisurely as I could, the sense of the ticking clock added a tension outside of the tension naturally generated by the game.
I started regretting not spending quite as much time in the Character Creator (I should have gone for freckles).
The time pressure interfered with my play.
So on Friday (UK) I will start a new game and a new class.
But the 6 hours was a nice trial-run.
Let me start with the fact that I didnt' read anything previous to my post (since my last post in this thread), in fear of Spoilers.
I just wanted to confirm everyone that the EA Access 6 hours trial will work ONLY for the Xbox One Gamertag associated with the EA account which has the EA Access active.
We are in Italy, the EA Access started more than 5 days from the EU release, it was a worldwide date: 5 days before the US release.
Since at home the person who plays the most on consoles is my younger brother, which is now attending university, and I spend most of my days in the office or out of the country for work, I decided to activate the EA Access on his EA account, last month.
We donwloaded everything and yesterday he played his share of 3 hours (we decided that way for starters, assuming it was shared as the Vault games are shared with the Home Console users), and is keeping strictly spoiler free for me, as the only thing he told me is "it takes you just two hours of playing only to see the game title" (sort of ME2 I may assume? when you played before you saw the Mass Effect 2 game name on screen, but a bit deeper).
When I got back home from work I fired up my Xbox One, got comfortable, logged into my Xbox One profile and tried to launch Dragon Age: Inquisition.
At first it prompted me whether I wanted to buy the game, or insert the game disc to play, so I tried again a couple of times, with the same result.
Then I tried logging also my brother's Xbox One profile, switching to mine and launch the game: DA:I started, only to tell me, on the main screen, that there was no EA Access plan associated with my EA Account.
Bottomline TL:DR Version:
EA Access won't work for other accounts on the Xbox One, it's NOT shared like the Valut. It ONLY works with the account that has the EA Access active.
As for me, I'll keep out of the forums and will have to wait 7 more LONG days.
Cheers!

I did the same thing. I knew I had limited time and so I just skimmed through the begining and quiet. The wife can have the rest of my trial.
I will wait for the 18th to really get into the game.
Let me start with the fact that I didnt' read anything previous to my post (since my last post in this thread), in fear of Spoilers.
Let me start by saying (haha sorry...didn't notice) that there were no spoilers in this topic (or big enought for me to see) so far - so it's safe to read.
Second (and please don't perceive it as some veiled insult): why are people so afraid of spoilers? In this game I mean. In linear game I understand why, but here more than half the enjoyment is that you have options about how to proceed....
And yes definetely start a new game on 18/20/21th...unless you are like me and used your time exploring the crafting/CC/reading the abilities:)
This trial had (strangely) too many locked features....

I agree. I wanted to explore every corner and get every little crafting material, but that ticking clock was there over my shoulder. I wanted to listen to dialog and read codex entries, but that timer...
This did help me decide that I was wrong about what class I wanted to start with, and it gave me time to play around with the character creator to figure out exactly what look I wanted. It helped me to learn a couple of things about the game mechanics that will make jumping in on Tuesday that much easier.
I enjoyed my six hours quite a bit, My first Inquisitor is a blond female Dalish elf archer named Rhoswen (meaning "White Rose"). I did not sample multi-player, spent less time in character creator than I had expected (got her look right almost from the get go), a great deal of time was spent exploring the Hinterlands, then after securing my horse I went back to Haven and checked out what will be my initial base. Talked to all those that I could, laying the groundwork for my eventual romance with Solas. I crafted a fantastic looking set of leather armor that has a lush dark-yellow to light orange color that suits her, and upgraded Varric's Bianca three ways. I earned a number of achievements and leveled Rhoswen up to rank four for sure, but might have hit five before the plug was pulled.

Just finished my 6 hours, was playing male/human/mage (will be starting fresh as a Qunari when the full game comes out) - was just starting a side quest for Solas when *poof* 6 hours up
Oh well, only a week now - also I loved
Spoiler
Yea I loved the spoiler part too....
...side note: where is the button for spoilers...I am too lazy to do it manually!
...I am kinda wondering how different it is playing human vs playing as Qunary....well hopefully I will find in a month:)

Nothing personal mate!
it's just me, I like to discover every little bit, in fact I've kept the spoiler level to a tolerable minimum (aka trailers and two twitch streams) and since this "Scuttlebut" forum now is tagged as "SPOILERS" I feel uncomfortable in reading anything, even the thread titles.
This comes from a bad past experience here on BioWare Forums, as for ME2, before the game was even delivered to me (being in Europe, we get the games 3 days later than the US) somebody made a thread which title was a major spoiler on ME2 ending, which kinda sort of ruined the "surprise" feeling for me.
That happening made me more obsessive about spoilers, and there are other people, who more and who less than me, that feel the same way ![]()
Said that, I'll pre-load on the 17th on my PC (pre-load date for Europe) and will be playing on the 21st evening, by the time I get home from work.
The wait just got a bit longer, and I'll be able to spend my 1+ hour just creating my character ![]()

Fair enought I guess ![]()
I think at this point I've played for about 2 1/2 hours of my 6 hours, but I'm only like, a 1 1/2 hours into the game. Character creator woes. Anyone else have the problem of makeup not showing up really well in the character creator (on my female elf)? I was switching to a bunch of different colors and a bunch of different intensities, and couldn't see any real difference. But then when I got in the game, it finally showed up, and of course looked terrible. So I started over and just left all all my make up as the default.
I'm also not doing well with all the changes to the controls and UI. It's gonna take awhile to get used to.
But it's really pretty :-D
I had the same exact experience, started playing when it was a little over 80% installed. I'm hoping that was the same issue I was having, because boy, was it bad. Any kind of particle effect or any major activity and it was dropping frames left and right. Brutal texture pop-in, too.
You have to mitigate anything I say with the understanding that the game wasn't 100% installed, but what I saw was fairly unimpressive. In addition to the issues mentioned above, everything was a jagged mess, and the character models didn't seem to be a huge leap up from DA2 and ME3. Varric in particular looked eerily similar to his prior incarnation.
Fingers crossed, the PC version is able to solve some of these issues provided you have superior hardware.
To update this post, I went back and played the game again while fully installed, and while that cleaned up some of the issues I was seeing, there was still a significant amount of stuttering in busy cutscenes and texture pop-in was still occurring, though it wasn't nearly as pronounced.
I noticed that during cutscenes indoors or in smaller areas, the character models looked much better up close than in the field, they're clearly having to expend a great deal of resources to render the environments. The environment and details still look aliased. Unfortunately, the otherwise beautiful armor designs take a visual hit when viewed up close, smaller embellishments are messy at times.
To be clear, I don't believe the visual difficulties are the fault of the development staff, it's undoubtedly due to having to scale down a PC game to fit into this gen's inferior hardware. The art design is commendable, and I based on what I've read about the PC version, powerful hardware will do justice to their vision.
