ok - I was weak: My Game (Only option for UK Deluxe) pre-order was quoting 2-3 business days delivery after release (21st for the UK) with no option to guarantee a first day delivery specified. I'm away on business for the week 24-28 Nov so chances of no DAI until December pretty much assured.
So sorry Game but pre-order cancelled. Testing EA Access - let's see what happens:
- Buy EA Access for 1 year (£19.99) or 1 month (£3.99). I go for a year because I enjoy games and it's 12 months for cost of 5 but charged at once.
- Pre-ordered DAI Deluxe at 10% discount: So, just saved £1.50 on the pre-order I just cancelled, which was slightly cheaper (£5) physically.
Went straight for the pre-order which was charged immediately, but this is not a game I'm not pre-ordering so no need to hold back.- And it's started downloading DAI - that's kind of exciting even if I can't touch it for 13 days !
And the download looks as though it will take several hours (25% took over an hour) but that hardly matters under the circumstances.
It allocated itself 13% of my 500MB drive, so physical disk based games would occupy 60% less of your drive I guess.
EA Access may well therefore have a 'price' in requiring addition external storage earlier than planned.- Will be interesting to find out what 'limited access' actually means with respect to DAI - by the posts above, maybe it's access to everything? Or not. Waiting to see. Either way, 5 days ahead of Nov 21st should have me in the game November 16th doing something.
Yeah I'm leaning on buying the digital deluxe as well as a physical copy. I want to be able to download it sooner than later. You also save about 7 dollars on the purchase because of access.
