ok - I was weak: My Game (Only option for UK Deluxe) pre-order was quoting 2-3 business days delivery after release (21st for the UK) with no option to guarantee a first day delivery specified. I'm away on business for the week 24-28 Nov so chances of no DAI until December pretty much assured.

So sorry Game but pre-order cancelled. Testing EA Access - let's see what happens:

  • Buy EA Access for 1 year (£19.99) or 1 month (£3.99). I go for a year because I enjoy games and it's 12 months for cost of 5 but charged at once.
  • Pre-ordered DAI Deluxe at 10% discount: So, just saved £1.50 on the pre-order I just cancelled, which was slightly cheaper (£5) physically.
Went straight for the pre-order which was charged immediately, but this is not a game I'm not pre-ordering so no need to hold back.
  • And it's started downloading DAI - that's kind of exciting even if I can't touch it for 13 days !
And the download looks as though it will take several hours (25% took over an hour) but that hardly matters under the circumstances.
It allocated itself 13% of my 500MB drive, so physical disk based games would occupy 60% less of your drive I guess.
EA Access may well therefore have a 'price' in requiring addition external storage earlier than planned.
  • Will be interesting to find out what 'limited access' actually means with respect to DAI - by the posts above, maybe it's access to everything? Or not. Waiting to see. Either way, 5 days ahead of Nov 21st should have me in the game November 16th doing something.

Yeah I'm leaning on buying the digital deluxe as well as a physical copy. I want to be able to download it sooner than later. You also save about 7 dollars on the purchase because of access.

I'll be pretty quick in the CC I just change a few things I don't have the eyes to make a perfect character haha My Human will have blue eyes and dark read hair with some facial and that's all that really needs to be done its the voice that I will need to look at the most.

I'm sure once it's preloaded and accessible people will start trying to crack the game files so they can be the first to leak everything to the public.

I know nothing about doing that, but wouldn't that be difficult on consoles?

it was really easy on PS3 but this is different there has been 0 leaks on any of the preload games on either platform so far and I've had DA;I on my HDD for like a week now.

Anyone know if EA Access subscriptions will be available to buy in stores or at online retailers by the time early access starts? I'm in the UK.

Want to get EA Access, but would rather not use credit cards/debit cards on the Xbox, or use PayPal. :(

they said they would start doing it but it hasn't happened yet and I don't think it will happen by the 13th, sadly.

The FAQ says it will eventually be available in Gamestop stores, but no ETA as to when.

Personally I'll be partaking in the early access because I'm forced to wait for my Inquisitor's Edition to arrive in the mail.  Mostly I'll be dorking around in the character creator, I imagine.

I imagine you'd be able to buy the Xbox credit for the $5/$30 and then just buy EA Access with your balance, wouldn't you?

no unfortunately pre paid codes do not work you need to either use a paypal, credit card, or the EAA cards that aren't out yet.

Can we add you? It'll be nice having a mini DA community going!

Wait. People don't have access to the whole game early, right? That would suck. I'm already nervous about the journalists spoiling things.

People with EA Access don't...reviewers with review copies do.

The nature of the service suits consoles better, I think, especially when you consider a lot of people using them are used to opening up apps like Netflix or hulu to access things on demand. It's an attempt to tap into that market, except with games.

(People have tried running similar ones on PC without much success– I say this as someone who used to use Gametap before it was bought out. Great site!)

Hadn't heard of Access before this post. Changed my preorder... why not? Save a couple of bucks and start the game sooner, not much argument against it for me.

I want to say yes since progress carries over... But nothing specific has been mentioned.

As much as I hate GAME after the whole ME3 collectors edition fiasco, to be fair to them they send out copies of games several days early so it always gets there on release (or occasionally earlier) they did this to me with Skyrim and L.A Noire - both of which I got before official UK release dates and more recently Sunset Overdrive which got here on the UK launch. Also I would rather GAME had the Inquisitor's edition then gamestop (although Amazon UK would have been preferable).

GAME is terrible. I preordered my Xbox One launch games there and they were never sent. I had to cancel my order and buy them in-store... where like HMV they charge more than their own website. Absurd.
