So we know Hawke is making an appearance in DA:I, I'm wondering how we will edit his appearance to match our Hawke from our game if we couldn't import him/her into the keep and had to choose one of the default Hawkes.

Is a Character Editor going to be added to the keep, or will we have that option in DA:I?

You'll determine Hawke's appearance in Inquisition. How and when you'll do this isn't known yet, it's not through the Keep, though.

I think this twitter post should answer your question:

And no, it will be an Editor in Dragon Age Inquisition itself, not the Keep.

They've been very vague about how and to what extent we will "edit" Hawke's appearance. Don't get your hopes up.

They already have an ingame character editor for the inquisitor, I don't see why the same editor couldn't be used for hawk as well.

One would think it would be that simple. It should be that simple. I've come to learn, however, that implementing certain features, something as simple as an FOV slider for example, can have a cascade effect on many other systems within a game. It really can become a nightmare, and I don't envy the difficulty of the job.

Check out this article (it's a great read); the author shares some insight into just how difficult it can be to implement a seemingly benign feature.

I think just giving character editor is not enough , they should give all the default hawk faces of da2 so that we can start from a good reference point.

Being able to start with Hawke's default look and then edit from there would have been nice in DA2. Why they don't do that. I'll never know. I like the pre-defined, prototypical 'Hawke', but a few tweaks would have been nice.
