I was about to say that this reviewer's complaints were kind of weird, like he throught the whole game was in just this one area, the Hinterlands? He only palyed 4 hours, which is equivalent of like 1-3% of the game.
For declaring himself a huge fan, he seemed really ignorant on what DA:I was all about. Kind of painful to watch considering I wanted to shout "YOU DO THAT IN SKYHOLD."
I think he has this really romantic idea of what Origins and DA2 are. He needs to do more research or at least watch a few gameplay vids from twitch.
Have you even been listening to the video? He mentioned dozens of times that he only saw the beginning of the game and that there is obviously more to it. Also i don't heard any complaint about something that's going to be integrated into skyhold. His main complains were:
- Only Quest givers talk to you. Yes you couldn't talk to everybody in Origins, but there were way more people to really talk to and these were also people that didn't give you sidequests. Just take Lothering as example: You have that madmen, that you can calm, which isn't a sidequest, you can talk to the chantry-people to learn more about the chant of light and they don't give you sidequests. All in all there were a lot of people that you were able to talk to just because you wanted.
- Weak Side Quests. The main complaint here was that they don't have real story of background. They ask you to do something in inquisition and the only thing you can do is accept. In Origins you could investigate to find more about the quest and the circumstances that lead to the person needing your assistance. You could accept the quest or you could blackmail people to give you more money. The Quests still seem to have proper context in Inquisition but no more big stories attached to them like in Origins.
- Actiony combat. He complains that the combat is very action-oriented and not as tactical as it was in Origins. He goes on to explain that the developers said they tried for a mix between origins and DA 2, but all they did was bring back the Tactical cam and they didn't actually improve the combat itself.
In no way did he complain about lacking content or anything that could be explained by him thinking the game would be just taking place in the hinterlands.
But i allready know that won't convince you, because i have the feeling you are just going to criticize everybody who dares to mention that Inquisition might not be the best perfect game that will ever touch your harddrive.
