Also confused by the comment about the tactical camera not working like it did previously.  From all the twitch videos and other streams it seems to work exactly the same.... except for the lack of auto attack, which didn't seem to be his point.

 

There is auto-attack when in tactical mode.

So far, I really enjoy the Angry Joe's Impressions (a lot more than the ones made by Lady Insanity), less Blah Blah Blah, and more action.

Yeah, I usually like her videos, but that one just made me want to ask her to shut up. Don't know why, but after that first paragraph her voice and manner of speech just grated.

That was Rich McCormick, so no.  Even so I can't help wondering if PC Gamer are being so careful not to over-praise this time that they are erring in the opposite direction.

I liked Lady Insanity's video. She's clearly a fan and gave a fan's perspective and I liked how she listed at the end the good and the bad. It was objective and informed.

He still might. The preview NDA only allowed them to talk about the Hinterlands.

He said he will post more if he finds some more footage he is allowed to show, so I would reckon he got permission to show it, he is neither new at this or stupid, despite how he may sometimes act.

 

So far, I really enjoy the Angry Joe's Impressions (a lot more than the ones made by Lady Insanity), less Blah Blah Blah, and more action.

They were two entirely different previews.  AJ was showing gameplay. LI was focusing on telling you exactly what she thought about the game even though she couldn't show everything to you. AJ only spent like a minute actualy giving a full impression of the game.  LI was directly answering question people seemed to have about how good and deep the story is and concerns about it from how it is and isn't the same as DAO and DA2.

More and more of these reviews focus on the disappointingly high number of meaningless fetch quests.  Sigh....starting to kill my hype.  I really hope that BW for some reason whiffed on the hinterlands and for whatever reason thought that it would make sense to put a disproportionate amount of those crappy quests in the first area that you see (thus making a poor impression) relative to the rest of the game.  I find this a bit of a stretch though.

Angry Joe's video was pretty great! It contains a lot more spoiler than other video because it reveals the prologue section, but he skips through most of the dialogue so  I was actaully ok with it. (It looks super awesome too!). UGHHHHH my hype level is off the charts!

Lady Insanity says the game is heavily story driven. The fetch quests to a large degree are tied to building up inquisition resources. But the area is comparable to how story lite the quests in early DAO and DA2 are.

I know, after both his and Lady Insanity's video any of my lingering doubts have been purged from my mind.  If they both love it, then there must be something special going on here.  Fully on board the Hype train...I was on the hype train before, but one of my feet was kind of sticking out.

Thats good that it is slower and requires more thinking at higher levels challange.

Also going to be fun for mps chars going have to level max everything in that now.
