Instrumental music can also try to get a message across, military marches are a great example.

There's also great lyric driven music, where the singer just wants to impress with poetic and well written lyrics, like many of John Foxx's songs.

Some musicians may say that music itself can't have any message or emotion, but I disagree.

Although it's not easy to decipher!

What gets me is when people dismiss the hardcore scene as dudebro music. Some of it is for sure, but the really good bands promote positive messages. Being true to yourself, not following trends, and doing the right thing even if it's not the popular thing. Not for everyone, it's loud fast and a lot of screaming, but I feed off that energy, helps get me through.

It doesn't matter to me if there's words in a song or not, I and other dancers still know where our hands and feet and the rest of our body goes in a song, with or without words.

This statement makes it seem as if you only like music as long as you can dance to it.

It's about what's wrong with our world today, mainly the fact that it has a suevival of the fittest and dog eat dog atmosphere.

It's always been that way, that's the way nature works. In society today "survival of the fittest" counts far less than at any other time in human history.

I will listen to just about anything and everything BUT i FU*KING hate Xmas music the most.work retail for a few years and you will experience the passion of the christ(see what i did there :D)

Xmas music, is one of the main reasons why I hate Xmas.

I can't imagine any actual musician saying that, that's total bull.

And Bruckner is great.

I'm a dancer and I disagree, at least for many types of music.

You could never dance to Rockabilly for example without the singing. It just doesn't have the same effect.

I dislike much of the label manufactured music that is targetted to particular age groups.

It's good to see movies like Guardians of the Galaxy is successfully introducing children/teens to music outside these manufactured singers/bands. It may change their music purchases and inspire future musicians.

Another thing I don't like is people saying that "all pop music is manafactured, talks about drugs, sex, money, etc etc" (not true by the way) and yet if you turn on Kerrang they sing about the exact same thing, but no-one seems to mention that.

90% of the current mainstream-pop is/does.

A few experimental musicians said so (in another forum)!

Dancing to Rock'n'Roll and Rockabilly must be fun.

Certain Metal tracks that sound too much like noise than anything else. Double Bass Pedal can work, but not at a bazillion BPM.

I keep a relatively open mind with most music, and My taste is very varied, but I can not stand most of the "pop" music(whatever the hell genre Miley Cyrus or Beber is called) and the newer(the really old stuff is good, most of the time) "mainstream", "Merica" type country music Republicans love(like...what the **** is his name, I want to say Troy Aikman, but that's probably wrong? The fucker who made that money grab song about 9/11.)

I'm really just not into most of the mainstream ****.

Also, Christian rock and metal is just.... ew ( ´_⊃`)"Unblack Metal"(Christan Black Metal) is really hit or miss..mostly miss, but it's not as bad...sometimes.

As well as NSBM, it's ****** **** tbh. Kataxu made one good song and I'll give them that, but otherwise it's just all ****, and misses the whole ****** point of the genre!

And Deathcore or what I like to call it, Cricket Metal, is also ew.

I honestly can't like Jpop, Kpop, nightcore or mainstream hiphop.
