What battle?

Have you read Asunder or played DA2? Just one ass kicking for the mages after another.

If all of that is earned on the toleration of bloodshed unending at the hands of the templars against all who weren't so lucky as to survive apprenticeship, or who just were in the wrong place at the wrong time for any number of reasons, my sympathy at someone losing their prison's worldly comforts will be somewhat limited. I'll only be sympathetic in full if they were working to change things at the time.

"You worked hard to make the best out of a less-than-stellar situation. But because you're not doing it the way I want, you're a bad person and I won't care that my actions make you suffer."

You don't see how this exact same thinking is what normals use to excuse stuffing mages in Circles?

I just found it funny how you said Templars aren't what you're looking for in recruitment when the majority of your troops are them is all.

The majority of the troops before we actually start our recruitment drive in earnest, yes.

Ah, you want the people currently losing every known battle. Gotcha.

As opposed to the people who lost to the people who were losing every battle, yes.

The Templars started the war with nearly every conceivable advantage. The results are unacceptable.

Yeah. The guy was suffering from PTSD I think because saw what the mages and templars did to a bunch of refugees. First the Templars forced them to hand over food and then the mages set fire to them. The Templars came back to track the mages and one of then stayed behind to kill the refugees. Then when he saw a girl he started taking off his armor and Hunter shot him. Hunter tried to help the girl but she died from her burns.

I thought it was both brilliant and horrible.

Is this in the game?

If I lost my various first world amenities due to some kind of uprising against a hypothetical more-corrupt-than-usual government IRL, I wouldn't fill myself with self-pity or resentment at those who couldn't take it anymore either.

I don't want people to suffer, and I do consider it unfortunate that my (well, other peoples', as none of my characters started the rebellion) actions caused collateral damage. But I'm not going to give up on the cause just because there are mages who've temporarily lost a few comforts. Some things have to be fought for, and negotiation was never going to be an option with the templars being what they are--or at least, I can't see any way out through there.

Score one for the boys back home! The man has a point you know, the Templars have created the very thing they've sworn to eradicate: Apostate Mages

Without leadership and Chantry lyrium, not really.

Being unable to launch fireballs from your hands is an advantage?

... From the people who apparently regretted going too ham on Mage/Templar portrayal in DA2. This choice is just looking more and more pointless.

Well they are the anti-mage army, specifically trained to combat mages. The fact they didn't crush the mages within a year is suprising.

You say "temporary" and "improve" but we have yet to see any sign that the mages have any sort of plan to actually improve their lifestyle beyond "we're free now" (which, as many post-revolution countries are finding out now, is not always an improvement).

And look at the logic you're using: "The suffering of a minority is acceptable for the greater good." That is exactly the logic that is used to justify the Circles.

Isn't that the point? If the choice was black/white it would be too easy.

I think with DAI bioware is going with the angle that both sides kinda well... suck. Now its a pick your poison kind of choice! Both will have consequences! I assume the mages and templars that we can choose for them to join the inquisition disapprove of all these acts that are being committed I hope...

Personally I like that the choice is more grey now.

In the Hinterlands, yes.

Just a confirmation of What The hinterlands' introduction of months ago stated, as well as Harding'a report to Leliana.
I want to improson/execute whoever is leading both factions in the area.

No it's not. It's black and black, and we've been hating it since '11.

To be fair it's a little difficult to come up with such plans when your being attacked by Templars.

WHERE THE *EXPLETIVE* IS FIONA. WHY THE HELL ISN'T SHE REIGNING THEM IN?!?!

Edit: Technically, I know where she is, but that's besides the point. She ought to be doing something, cause this reflects on all mages as a whole.

Why? Choices between two evils is realistic and (in my opinion) enjoyable.

Going by of what we have seen of her she looks quite "tired" to say the least I am quite interested to hear her opinions on what's going on now I can't wait to get to that ball.

They had leadership, just not Lambert. And I don't think securing a line of Lyrium should be that hard when you have resounding support from the Nobility and common people, with the Chantry no longer having the means to actually enforce their monopoly on the trade.

Being unable to launch fireballs from your hands is an advantage?

No, it's a disadvantage, which makes the situation so much more perplexing, since the Templars are trained to stop the mages from doing any such thing.

Tired, my ass. When she was elected to Grand Enchanter, this is part of the job she signed up for, so she some serious explaining to do.
