Isn't that the point? If the choice was black/white it would be too easy.
It is black and white though, only the white choice (kill them all) is absent.

Yup. I want grey versus grey backNo it's not. It's black and black, and we've been hating it since '11.

Then that would make the choice really easy and bioware does not like doing that.
Considering I recall Gaider wants to cut down on the "third" option kind of routes so to speak.
You say "temporary" and "improve" but we have yet to see any sign that the mages have any sort of plan to actually improve their lifestyle beyond "we're free now" (which, as many post-revolution countries are finding out now, is not always an improvement).
And look at the logic you're using: "The suffering of a minority is acceptable for the greater good." That is exactly the logic that is used to justify the Circles.
What I'm aiming for is the temporary suffering of a minority for a greater good that's better for everyone. We also haven't seen the revolution at all beyond its very beginnings.
Ultimately, after having thought about it, this isn't about me starting a rebellion; if I was in that situation myself, I'd have looked for other solutions before massive bloodshed ideally (having Lambert and his supporters assassinated might be an acceptable start). What it's about is why I have to support the rebellion now that it's here.
WHERE THE *EXPLETIVE* IS FIONA. WHY THE HELL ISN'T SHE REIGNING THEM IN?!?!
Edit: Technically, I know where she is, but that's besides the point. She ought to be doing something, cause this reflects on all mages as a whole.
She's in another country. Expecting her to personally stop this is like expecting FDR to personally bring the hammer down on war criminals in the Pacific, except even more difficult due to the lack of a decent communications network.
Wait, so the mages set fire to refugees for no reason; then one Templar remained behind to put them out of their misery (I assume because why else would you stab people who are already on fire?) but when he saw a girl with third degree burns, he started taking his pants off?
Dafuq!?
In the Hinterlands, yes.
What video shows it?
Yup. I want grey versus grey back

Spoiler
Either she's not capable to controlling The mages in the area, which means she's incompetent, or she's approving those acts. I'd say it's The former, though it's doesn't make her look Good either.
Yeah, check my edit. I technically know where she is. I just wanna know why she hasn't done anything.
Why? Choices between two evils is realistic and (in my opinion) enjoyable.
Depends on The character you're roleplaying. My first's choice would be to defeat both factions based on their actions in the area.
I'm reasonably sure you do that already. I'm also reasonably sure that both sides have gone rogue... from their own already rogue sides.
then help out lol we take anyone lolScore one for the boys back home! The man has a point you know, the Templars have created the very thing they've sworn to eradicate: Apostate Mages
I don't really think it's fair to judge her. Leaders are rarely responsible for the actions of a violent few and both sides seem extremely fragmented so I doubt she really has the power to stop them.Tired, my ass. When she was elected to Grand Enchanter, this is part of the job she signed up for, so she some serious explaining to do.

Wait... what? Explain.

She's throwing a ball and ****.
Typical. Next you'll tell me Adrian is eating sweet cakes while all this **** is going on.
Then that would make the choice really easy and bioware does not like doing that.

Would it be the easiest? Doing so would actually make the Inquisition weaker, perhaps significantly so. Taking one side because you need power now seems like the easy way out, if anything.

She's not an idiot. She know's the place has gone to hell, especially after the Breach rips open.
Then she should go there and stop this madness. Or send a new leader for The mages who can keep them in line. What I'm aiming for is the temporary suffering of a minority for a greater good that's better for everyone. We also haven't seen the revolution at all beyond its very beginnings.

Yep.
As to the point of two evils, it's two really between two groups of sociopaths. Them stealing supplies is realistic. Them burning people alive, and then desiding that crispy people are ripe for raping is ****** sociopathic. It's ridiculous.
I do hope that's The case.I'm reasonably sure you do that already. I'm also reasonably sure that both sides have gone rogue... from their own already rogue sides.

Don't you dare get me started on her either.

How would she know about the Hinterlands situation directly if communications were cut off? It's in Ferelden and her base is in Orlais, so it's not like she'd get a native's-eye-view of the situation there. Also, it seems that she and Vivienne are both contacting the Inquisition, so it's completely possible that they want the Inquisitor to rein things in if Fiona doesn't have the resources to take control of things over there. It's much too early to say that Fiona is simply incompetent.
Then she should go there and stop this madness. Or send a new leader for The mages who can keep them in line.
The same goes for the templars.
See above.
Yep.

We cannot forget the corrupting aspects of blood magic and red lyrium as well the situation is really bad right now. XD
So we've got power-mad mages and serial rapist Templars - isn't it beautiful?
NO, IT IS ENRAGING!
On some level, you expect both major sides of a conflict -- since you really don't ever have just two factions in a conflict -- to act like asshats from time to time when war breaks out. So if we see Mages and Templars acting like douchebags, it's par for the course.
If that's all we see in the conflict, then ****** hell Bioware's even worse at writing conflict then I thought they were.

It's no different from killing bandits.

We won't, that'd be rather absurd.
