I'm not panicking. Though We need more context. It's entirely possible that they didn't survive.
I'm just advocating not panicking yet.

Chances Rhys survives first two hours of gameplay are____?
Personally, I think slim. Expecially if Fiona wasn't at The meeting.

Yikes. Thats kinda what I've been thinking too I wonder if they'll do him the courtesy of giving him a few lines before he dies.
Lines praising my promising young Mage, maybe even admission of envy towards my PC's mastery of the Arcane.....

It just makes sense to me that he was there. He is The leader of The largest fraternity, which is moderate. Fiona wouldn't send a Loyalist for discussing an armistice, and a Libertarian (Expecially Adrian) wouldn't be willing to Compromise.

I can see why they'd have kept Fiona alive, and Rhys' death might've served for Cole's development.Rather have him alive than Fiona tbh

I'd rather have Fiona so I can introduce her to Alistair and laugh. Not that a Rhys-Cole reunion wouldn't be nice.Rather have him alive than Fiona tbh

So are you saying there's a chance he might survive the events of the opening? Only to probably die later, making Cole available to the party.

I don't really think it's fair to judge her. Leaders are rarely responsible for the actions of a violent few and both sides seem extremely fragmented so I doubt she really has the power to stop them.
Huh?
Leaders are responsible for the actions, and the non-actions, of their subordinates. It's kind of the point of claiming to represent more people than just yourself.
Of course, if she's powerless to stop them and can't get them to do what she wants and not do what she doesn't want, she's a weak leader. At which point it becomes a valid question of why anyone should negotiate with her, if she doesn't have the clout to bring her faction(s) to line. Only fools negotiate with people who can't lead what they claim to represent.
[Well, there is an answer to that- because giving her a favorable settlement could boost her political capital and influence to the point that she could exercise authority over the rabble. But that means she's dependent on the other parties to give her power for her.]

So we've got power-mad mages and serial rapist Templars - isn't it beautiful?
Hell, it's not even necessarily a serial rapist- just the 'burnt alive' fetish is absurd enough to be comical.
It's like David in ME2's Overlord DLC. When I see the eyes pried open for no reason but shock value, I laugh.

I really do not know which side to choose,I believe that mages are really dangerous and need to be controlled, but anyway I always helped the mages more than the Templars...

I fear he might die off-screen at The start of The game.

They were, and no amount of mental gymnastics will convince me otherwise.
How about classical definitions of slavery as a property arrangement, the right to force labor from a slave, and the right to the profits of a slave's work (and thus any property the slaves claimed)?
Mages in Dragon Age (well, those outside Tevinter) fail on all three counts. They aren't considered, treated, or traded as property assets, they aren't forced to work, and they retain property rights and independent income from what work they choose to do.
'Slave' isn't synonymous with 'not free.' An infinitely better description is simply 'detainee.'

Perhaps, however dilemma for me is which side to choose, blood magic is bad, needs to be controlled, but not all mages are bad use. Already the Templars some are ''good'' and others ''corrupt'' but in general, they do their job keeping the ''safety'' of the people .

Detainee? I like it
*slaps you* Any agreement weakens you, us, Magi as a WHOLE. Have you learned nothing from the events of Asunder where that poor nameless female Enchanter was cut down immediately upon surrendering? The Templars Killed her as she surrendered. Right in front of Wynne too, we can't reason with bigots now turned murderers. SO even if you like the term: Detainee, the point is never to agree or let them know that you like something.

I hope you don't like you, or else you'll have conniptions. Or kittens. Or turn into bitter, self-loathing social outcast who passionately feels obligated to self-hate lest you agree with me.
In which case I will like you even more.

*rubs hand* No, No you've, I've. I shouldn't have hit you like that it's just...well....I'm a Mage we don't get to use our hands very often and I well....got excited in the moment.
I look at it like this: Mages if given the choice would live in "peace" they would go about there own creation of a system probably similar to the Circle but with a improved collection of wine and better customer service. The Templars however seem to have their minds set upon bloodshed I'm convinced they would gladly see this conflict dragged on and extended if it meant killing everyone: Mage and Mage supporter alike. It's like the Templar "peace" outcome in they're mind is killing everyone.
The inherit disproportional desire for bloodshed is what makes me angry when I see them complacent Mages, oooh I hate me a complacent Mage.
