Its a quite safe claim to say Lambert uses Lyrium, or at least used. The effects do not go away. Fiona is not an addict.

We don't know how exacty seekers use their powers. And in tevinter he couldn't use it.

Doesn't mean he is addicted. And now that we know Cassandra is not addicted to lyrium, it stands to reason that the top level Seeker would escape the addiction as well.

Those darn Templars. Causing war, while the mages are just fighting for freedom.

It's both fighting for their freedom, unfortunately the freedom of one group comes at the cost of freedom for the other.

I want you to go sit in the corner and think about how absurd what you just said sounds to the rest of us.

It's not a retcon. It's new lore.

what? templars are literally fighting for the opposite of freedom, you can argue their fighting for security, but not freedom.

If anything, the Templars are enslaved by the system almost as much as the mages. They give up their freedom in pursuit of zealotry.

Well you can call it that as well. I was thinking more - they are fighting for the common folk to be free from the dangers that mages pose to them.

Lambert disappeared before the war began and they were cut off from their power supply.

They still had other Seekers and the Knight Commanders. Lambert is hardly brilliant enough to make his disappearance affect the war in such a manner.

As for the Lyrium, well, the Chantry had no power to stop them from buying directly from the Dwarves. With the nobility and commoners largely favoring the Templars, along with personal connections the Templars have among themselves, securing supply shouldn't be impossible by any means.

Maker forbid these meter maids ever square off against magisters. F***ers would be put on blast.

When the top leadership goes, there's rarely anything to fall back on in a military setting, especially one so loosely held together. Also, the Chantry controls the lyrium trade, so yeah, that stopped them. You can't just buy lyrium.

You're going to give the english language a sprain.

You can call it security, but freedom doesn't even make for good rhetoric.

Well why don't the templars rebel then with the mages? Perfect opportunity! You know how fast the red templars and blood mages would crush the chantry? Then both could join the Inquisition, win / win.

Red templars and blood mages aren't the ones fighting each other in the hinterlands.

The only thing that matters is being able to cripple if not destroy the Chantry.

DA has what? 80 - 90 hours not including side quests? A good chunk of that needs to be my foot in a templar's ass.

But they are not in an alliance. :(

They would surely be the first faction I would ask to join me.

Oh you don't have to tell ME that, I'm the one that is pissed of about not being able to carry  a weapon irl according to the law. Really feels insecure at times.
