When the top leadership goes, there's rarely anything to fall back on in a military setting,

Hardly. There's a hierarchy for precisely this reason.

Also, the Chantry controls the lyrium trade, so yeah, that stopped them. You can't just buy lyrium.

The Chantry doesn't control **** in this situation. The people who policed the trade are the same people rebelling, and you totally can just buy Lyrium. Especially now that the Dwarves lost their #1 customer.

Hope there is a way to support the red templars.

Don't forget maleficars, we need the best!

But they are not in an alliance. :(

They would surely be the first faction I would ask to join me.

I honestly doubt you'll be able to ally with the RT.

The blood mages aren't really a faction. The mage groups in the game so far are the rebelling mages and the venatori. The latter might be more suited to your tastes, but since they serve the Elder One, I doubt you can ally with the faction. At best some of them might be recruited in the inquisition, in my opinion.

But there are multiple mage groups, they are not all nicely united, atleast that's what I got from the demo.

Yes, and the Divine controlled it. Lambert barely had time to put the correct leaders in charge. Especially for war.

Uh, no. The Chantry bought almost all of it. Some was smuggled in outside of Chantry regulations, but even then, the Templars themselves didn't pay for it. They aren't starving for lyrium right now because they want to.

Which demo?

There are likely different factions in the mage rebellion, but I doubt you'll ally with one and fight the other. Maybe we can support one leader who will then become the leader of the whole rebellion.

There were quite a lot.. don't remember.

Maybe or maybe there is a main faction and a few random smaller side plot factions.

I find the rationale for forced imprisonment far more disturbing.

I find both sides moronic as they continue to fight as Thedas is on the verge of annihilation. Brilliant!

She did not. The accord was rendered void and the 15 Knight Commanders had already met with Lambert in preparation.

Before the war, yes, but with no Circles and no Templars, who's still buying the Lyrium? And who's left to enforce their monopoly?

I know why they are starving. This lack of discipline and incompetence is the very thing I aim to cure.

She got her way without drawing a single drop of blood. She is cunning if not smart.

Cunning? She asked for a separation from the Chantry while they were 12 in strength and surrounded by thousands of Templars and Seekers in the very Seat of the Chantry.

Also, when presented with the reality of a sympathetic Divine AKA the person writing the laws that rule the mages her answer was "F*ck the Divine."

Cunning is not the word I would have used. Wrecking ball is better.

Indeed. Especially since the Divine helped to pioneer a solution to one of the biggest magical issues since the Circle's inception. Great work, Fiona.

And utterly refused to rein in the templars or assert her proper authority over them. She's only a hair better than Elthina.

The Divine controlled the Templars up until that point. That means she coordinated them in some capacity. They aren't really trained for a war effort on their own.

They're starving because their is no lyrium. There is no discipline that can erase this.

Well, the alternative is that she's unable to control the templars, in which case she might not be to blame, but is also wholly unable to help the mages.

Thedas is always on the verge of annihilation. They should name a day of the week annihilation day, it can replace the one that ends in y!

Gotta go for change when you can. And if you can direct some of that annihilation towards your enemies you just might make some ground.

You know, the "Lord Seeker" title doesn't stop existing just because the incumbent dies. He's almost certainly been replaced.

So we've learned. Which is why they will no longer have the right to separate from the Chantry.

"Who's there to pay for it?" is a much better question.

The same people who are able to buy red Lyrium from the Carta? Alternatively, all the people who were calling for defense against magic? There were plenty of sponsors and allies to be had.

They're starving because their is no lyrium.

Incorrect.

So what you're saying is that there hasn't been enough killing.

How many people are on that line of succession?

There can never be enough killing of rebel Seekers.
