Yep.
I support all loyalist brothers and sisters who carry the sword of mercy, Red Templars need to get their sh.t together and stop being dicks.
FREEEEEDOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!
Mages obviously. Templars need to burn in the just fire of the mages.
Templars are made by men, they can be unmade.

I would be indifferent to the conflict, most likely. Unless I was a mage myself, I suppose.
I'd just want the conflict to be over so we can focus on the true threat: the Breach and the demons.
This conflict is one I am rather... conflicted about. All human organizations are bound to decay and grow corrupt down the line, this holds true for both the templars as well as the mages. The templar order, or any order designed to police a specific group, is inevitably bound to grow more and more zealous as years pass. However, without the Templars to police them, it seems unlikely that all of the mages will just sit around and let the mundies keep doing what they're doing, and even more importantly, it's unlikely that they'll just refrain from communing with demons as an act of goodwill. Allowing the mages free reign of themselves is as absurd as trying to put the exact same system back in place. Neither will work in the long run. There needs to be some sort of compromise made, a way to give the mages some more freedom while maintaining the necessary oversight.

Dumat loves templars, their bones work as great toothpicks for him.
Mages

Hope that the templars would eradicate every single blood mage they see. No excuses. Even your post confirms how fall they are with a selfish ambitions to rule. Good thing there orders like the templars and seekers.
Not for long, and not against the truly worthy. ![]()
Magars. Templars with magic.

Magars. Templars with magic.
Templars ARE with magic, that's what lyrium does, makes them able to do some magic. Regular templars go for the spirit/anti-magic skill tree to fight mages. Red templars are not so picky, they can throw fireballs as well now.
On a pile of templar corpses.
Just kidding that would stink to high heaven after a short while and make for poor footing. I'm more pro mage then I'm anti-templar though when I think of a templar taking a child from a mother just because she's a mage I just want to behead every templar that laid a hand upon that child, gave an order or stood by and did nothing.
Due to my view on rights of the individual and children I see the entire templar order as guilty of crimes against humanity.

Choosing the Templar's for the most part
100% templar. Mages should be locked up in the tower forever.
Seriously for a MT thread theres little passionate arguments, insult, even pass-aggro remarks... im kinda bummed and glad XD
Well most of it is probably pulling from the fact there are not many DA forum visitors logged in at this time, because most people are running through their games looking for something that might spark a genius level thread topic on *spoiler* like possibilities
And in the long run we don't have enough lore to dive deep into the origins of the circles and why we feel locking mages up from everyone else is a necessary evil, rather then a way of policing and keeping untrained mages from accidentally harming others.
Personally I believe that the census is that Templars are necessary for the safety of both the mages and for the non mages of thedas. I sort of view them as i would a Militia group, military based as needed, with the backing of religious values and teachings. its hard to say yes or no in the long scheme of things because there are mages that most mages are good, but there are bad apples in the mixture... and there are templars who are just far too blind to see the good.
Pro-Circle. Its the only way I can see everyone being happy.
Side with the mages 100%, and you get Tevinter 2.0. You know, the land of "lets sacrifice our elven slave so we can entertain our guests!" and "Ohh that guy looked at me funny. Lets kill him with magic."
Side with the Templars and you get poor Mages being mistreated, even when they've done nothing wrong. That eventually leads to bitterness and rebellion.
Pro-Circle is a compromise.
