Mass Effect 3 bad?
I'll have a heart attack if they go that far again.

I think it will be better than Origins. I'm that confident.
This is coming from someone who still enjoys playing DA II in spite of the recycled maps and the annoying combat waves (though admittedly, I've only done maybe two or three complete play throughs because the ending is the same no matter what you do for the most part). And I enjoyed Mass Effect 3 as well (save for the ending until it was fixed).
This game looks better than DA II. The open world feel and the hype regarding choices and customization makes me think it will be better than Origins. And I'm not the least bit worried about the story. Bioware always tells a good story.
I really think people need to stop looking at other games to determine how this game will do. Stop comparing it to Destiny. They are two very different games and it was obvious before Destiny was even released that much of the story content was taken out. Stop comparing it to Mass Effect. And stop being so negative. If you go into looking for bad things, that's what you'll find.
That was very well said. Thanks for posting this, I was thinking much of the same thing. DA2 has several problems, but I still love it. I have several Hawkes that I finished the game with.
Before anyone gives me a hard time for this, it is possible to know that something is deeply flawed and still enjoy it anyway. I wouldn't ridicule anyone that dislikes DA2, as long as folks like myself and iheartbob aren't ridiculed because we enjoy DA2. For my part, I'm just getting too old feel the need to justify my taste in media.
Besides, I can't hate on DA2 too much. I really enjoyed most of the companions and it did give me Varric. He is and will remain one of my favorite BioWare characters of all time. He even managed to dump Daelen Red Tiger (from NWN) off of the top spot, and that kickass half-orc was in that spot for nearly 10 years.
Personally, I think the game is going to do very well. It's not uncommon knowledge that this game has had more development time than the previous one. Not that it takes much; the release date for DA:A and DA2 was less than one year a part. Frostbite has been known to be a very pretty engine and there are gamers and reviewers alike that are interested in what the first RPG on this engine is going to look like.
In any case, I'm not going to let the negativity of others color my views. I'm going in looking to have fun, and I don't give a crap what anyone else thinks. This isn't going to kill or tank the franchise at all. I'm not worried about that in the slightest.
I'm beginning to be convinced that some players just want to spend their next two weeks stressing their hair out.
Honestly it doesn't look good, every gaming forum I go to seems like everyone is holding out for the witcher 3, on top of that with gta5 coming to next gen consoles on the same day as inquisition I expect the sales to suffer a lot.
Personally I'm a big fan and I'm definitely buying this game but in the grand scheme of things I'm seeing a flop :S
To many bad things lined up in just the right way to bring this game down this november, bioware shouldn't of delayed it...
I'll have a heart attack if they go that far again.
Last time they did that, I was so disappointed to a point where I didn't play Mass Effect (any Mass Effect, not just the third one) for 1.5 years. Considering that it was (and still pretty much is) one of my favourite RPG series of all time, that's pretty big.
Honestly, I don't know anymore.
They've taken away enough stuff that their original fans on PC loved, but most shooter and console fans don't really get into deep storylines.
Too much trying to be everything to everyone, and that's why SWTOR didn't do nearly as well as it should have, imho.
Please don't blame the oversimplification of it on console users. We're just as capable as the rest of you of understanding mechanics.
I think it'll do well, but I can't see it dragging back any of the people that were turned off by DA2. It's still got the same base, but now with even fewer of the RPG mechanics and absolutely everything dumped into the crafting system.

Meh, we'll see. What will really be important is long term sales.
And those are automatically neutered by the lack of a toolset for modding. Do you think Origins would have been as successful long-term without?
I think it'll probably get 4/5 stars on most sites.
But I think forums will tell you the game sucks because you can't tickle Vivienne's tonsils.
I think the game will do well. The most important thing for long term sales is word of mouth, and thus far there's been no shortage of positive impressions of the game. As someone who browses other forums aswell Im getting the general impression that not just the "hardcore" fans if you will, are also getting hyped from what they're seeing ![]()

Yes, i bought Origins 3 years after it was released on PS3 and loved it. How did i find out about it? Word of mouth. the PC community does not = the whole community. And those are automatically neutered by the lack of a toolset for modding. Dragon Age Inquisition will do very well. It appears Bioware is emerging from the ashes of Dragon Age 2. Delaying a completely finished game an entire month solely for marketing purposes helps a lot too.
I think the game will do well also however typically towards the release of a big title a lot of trolls start to come out. Some people who just like to brake things like to spread false accusations to give bad credit because it makes them happy. Some people who get hurt by games end up playing biased so if you go in playing with the intention to find something wrong you will if you go in with a open mind you will surprise yourself. People have to give ME3 some credit it was a good game just not the ending however the rest of the game was pretty well off until the ending.
The positive's and Negatives
Positive and can be seen as a Negative
A immense world to see great but overwhelming for those who are used to action/linear base games.
Many side quests due to open world however many will feel like this is a bit much however it is avoidable. However but because you due want to see things you are hoping everything is part of the main game so they don't like questing they like story open world games and past games had many side quests.
Quests are great but only for those who like to complete everything.
This game will be well perceived as long as people give the right info rather then what they think it to be rather then what it really is.

No, apparently the ones who made the company successful to begin with are now reduced to being second-best. #notbitter
Relatively.
Relative to what, you ask? Buggered if I know.

@Tielos Who said PC gamers were "second-best?" All he said was is that theirs are not the only opinions that count.
I get that impression from the features that have been "streamlined" or removed, not from anything that was said in this thread. ![]()
Very.
I think people are overestimating how upset some were at ME3...I think most sane people would understand that the 40+ hours before the ending were awesome. ME3 looked, played, sounded amazing...it had a great story (with a shifty final couple of scenes) and as per usual the characters were awesome...How a bad ending is all some can take away from that game is absolutely beyond me (and it was also a good example of an internet hive-mind).
DA:I will do very well...and having reviews out a week before the game officially launches is a good indicator of this...
I see it selling slightly higher than Origins at best. I'd like it do well, but I honestly think most people don't care about Dragon Age anymore. The reactions I've seen to DAI outside of places like the BSN usually ranges from mildly interested to not interested at all.
Depends on its budget, and how well was it spent.
I don't know either, i know only what i saw in demos and trailers.
So far, i look at a game that compared to even Skyrim, has better graphics, animations with inverse kinematics of a caliber not seen before, physics that seem realistic, art style(and equipment) that looks subjectively very nice and distinct for the setting, crafting that looks more promising, a more promising and engaging combat system, an open world with some more limitations compared to Skyrim, companions that engage in banter, and a story line, that remains to be seen, and will probably determine how it all adds up.
Quality wise, and not taking preferences into account, it could do even better than Skyrim, unless it's not action enough for most folks. Tactical RPGs are generally not favored by a large crowd.
Another issue is the prejudice because of ME3 or DA2.
I see it however, at the very least, doing better than Origins and DA2.
depends on what fox has to say. i hear this one has Ebola in it.
