BIOWARE, it's 2010, players should have a same-sex romance option.

This thread  is about the merits of having a same-sex romance option in ME games.

Please refrain from general discussions about homosexuality and/or religion.  Thank you.

Yes, it makes sense.

No, it's not in. End of story.

I would also like to add:
If a post is rife with hostility and ignorance and you feel compelled to "correct" that person or "reason" with them. DON'T. IGNORE IT.
Let's just keep this as strictly for support of same-sex romances please. If you don't support it, then ignore it.

There should only be same sex romance options if in fact the NPCs you can have romances with are gay or lesbians. Regardless of what you think should be, not everyone is homosexual or have homosexual tendencies. In fact only 2% in a given mammalian species are homosexual or show homosexual tendencies.

I am in support if it makes sense for story wise and it fits the setting.  Placing homosexual romances for the sake of just having a homosexual romance but otherwise does not fit in the story or themes of the game I do not support.

I rephrase...

They shouldn't. IMO. They aren't going to do it. Commander Shepard is straight. You want to say otherwise, then consult Bioware about their own character.

Agreed. Please Bioware, if it's a question between xenophilic and homosexual romances in ME3, please throw those of us who have gay, bi, and lesbian Sheps a bone. Thanks.

And here's a free hint to anyone participating on this thread:

If someone brings up politics or religion, ignore them. Don't argue with them, troll them, bait them, belittle them, agree with them etc. Don't give the mods a reason to close yet another of these topics.

It doesnt seem to matter much, as soon as someone brings it up, the mods lock it down, so all trolls have to do is bring it up, regardless of whether we ignore them.

Kinda like forum griefing.

With that said, it seems almost as though the mods enjoy locking these threads down. It takes off less ranting.

Exactly

Shepard can be gay if you want him to be, but if none of the characters are gay then there won't be any same-sex romance.

Haha. Perhaps people will have learned now to ignore the trolls and stay ON TOPIC.

As in the other half-a-dozen or so threads before this one that were delightfully locked down, I would like (and expected before being bitterly disappointed) a same-sex romance option in ME2, as unlikely as it may be now. Perhaps ME3 will continue the trend, since femshep/Liara will be guaranteed.

....or will it be Bioware? I worry now....

Not this again. Look Shepard is a member of the military, many people have a problem with gays in the military, if Bioware gave the option of a same sex romance these people would get rather pissed, most of those people are well armed, Bioware writer's and devs are not bullet proof, they don't want on Fox News again, so there's no same sex romance.

Does it suck, maybe, will it change, no. Cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it.

Isn't Suze Bi though? So why no F/F romance with her?

The same could be said for hetero romances, why include them if they're just tacked on? I imagine the fling with kelly and male shep doesn't have a lot of "story drive or reasoning" behind it, but yet it's there...

I myself am not gay but find this odd on Bioware's part and also unfair. Since Knights of the Old Republic you guys have allowed such romances come true, in doing this made Bioware to me and I suspect others as well even a more liked company, as well as unique for doing such things. To me not only allowing players to choose what they want to look like but also choose what what kinds of relationships in a roleplaying game to me made Bioware frontiers in a new age of games for everyone, no matter race, sex or sexual preference he or she were. I am extremely displeased by this, espically from a game company were you suspect them to do such things.

I would like, instead of a lockdown a simple, truthful response from a Dev or Moderator why they did this, was it because you finally got afraid and went back in your shell or was it something more simple like room in the game? The silence is most unpleasant from the game developers, who to me seemed like a new breed of developers thinking outside the box and letting everyone to enjoy such a great game.

I encourage people to make more post let these threads to keep coming.

It's 2010, so what? Most countries still have laws in place against homosexual marriage. Only the really cool, advanced ones *slams self on the chest* allow it, and another bunch wimp out by calling them ''unions'' to prevent upsetting the religious crazies.

I mean, I get what you are trying to say here, but don't use ''It's 2010'' as an argument. I'm fairy sure we are not at the pinnacle of human civilization yet, not by a long shot. Too many things are still wrong with society. And even then I'm just talking about the Western world here, obviously.

One could infer that she is from some dialog...but FemShep has no chance :crying:

This is what, the seventeenth thread on this same issue? All that happens is the exact same repition of events (with slightly different wording each time). I don't have any problem with same-sex romance. I do, however, have a problem with people that love to do nothing but complain upon a feature that isn't in-game. It's probably not gonna happen in ME2 unless there already are such characters. The best bet is ME3. A DLC would break immersion, IMO.

And as I said a bit back...

Why do people bother continuing

reason that the original threads were locked?

And sorry if I come of as harsh or anything, but this is how I see it.

Tell it to the Tali and Garrus fans after ME1 came out... hmm, wonder what happened to their wishes...<_<
