I dont get the point of this thread why does it being 2010 constitute there being a reason for same sex relationships in Mass effect, if its deemed not nessisary for the story why just include gay relationships for the sake of it ..

It's like Bioware was fine with including bisexual characters (Jack) but shied away from same sex romantic content for some reason.

I apologize for sniping with my comment. I'll be honest, I also find it annoying that so many different threads get made about this topic. I find it frustrating that they all seem to be trolled constantly, as well. But I will continue to post in every thread I see about it so that Bioware (if they even read the threads) know that my support (and desire) for such an option will not wane.

I don't know what else to say now.

Well said  Rjeid  Many of the previous threads turned into trollfests and were locked. The topic is not going to die because it is a subject of on-going interest to many gamers.

The key to keeping these threads alive is what we seem to be grasping now, not talking to these people except for short, sweet, usually gameplay related answers that are not overly emotional and then they get bored, go to work, whatever and we can go back to asking for what we want in an organized and reasonable manner.

I like playing Dude Shep more than female shep. But I'm a girl and it always feels odd romancing girls so I don't and its fun to see how it plays out. So now my M!Shep is either non-existant or single. I just hope I don't have ot put up with people constantly hitting on him in that case. It'll only remind him of what he's missing.

Invert the genders and I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to be frustrated playing ME2 knowing that Tali is finally romanceable, but I don't "qualify".

Completely agreed. If you don't want romance in your video game go play Random shooter # 44. If you can't stand the fact that ME doesn't have sex romances go play Jade Empire again.

Actually, Dragon Age and ME 1 were much better same sex romance examples, oh and their are 12 sex romances in this game, but I think you miss typed.

On the first two pages? Well, there's this thread. There's the thread mocking it. There's a poll and then there's a thread asking about modding. Hardly 50 threads is it? All the other ones were locked. And the posting has been mostly concentrated in THIS thread.

Not coming down on either side of this but I'm willing to bet that with as much as they're talking about all the DLC they've got lined up. There will probably be a downloadable "Romance Expansion Pack" of some sort. They've got this whole Cerberus Network season for DLC so this will probably come pretty quick. If I were to guess.

I'm all for them having homosexual romances in the game, if they have a good homosexual character... otherwise, this isn't a dating sim. If you want a dating sim they will write in every character type you want to suit your horniness.

There are 12 romances, it's a dating sim. Beyond that, they created the Asari specifically to be discount lesbians, so why not include another romanceable one?

Well Bioware presents the game as the gamer makes the choices. There wouldn't be much point in making a shooter/RPG if there were only one way to play it, would there?



No one wants a dating sim. What many people want is equal opportunity to have an immersive experience. Bioware have stated that a good part of ME2 is about building relationships with our team-mates and romance is part of that relationship-building. Which is why there are no less than *6* romance options which can apparently play out differently according to Paragon or Renegade choices. Sadly there seems to be not a single same-sex option which upsets a good number of players (myself included).
