BIOWARE, it's 2010, players should have a same-sex romance option.

I like to think that Shepard and the player are two different people. Shepard's sexuality and interests won't always align with the players. That's life.

Yeah yeah, the player controls Shepard, but Shepard is still their own character. Same-sex romances would be great but if it doesn't fit with the character, it just doesn't.

So why was same-sex (including male-male) written, scripted, and recorded for ME1?

Personally, I think the ignorant Fox fiasco has scared shareholders or some other nonsense of equal laughability. Why would they write, script, and record something that "was never intended"? They wouldn't.

Could we agree to let the matter lie for a few days until we know for sure one way or the other? If it turns out there are none then we can resume the outrage.

So - if Shepard is a straight male. Then you are agreeing that is not a roleplaying game?

Bioshock - puts me into the "role" of a character who's story I am only experiencing. This, is a storytelling game/FPS. ((And an amazing story.))

I do not simply "experience" a RPing game. I interact with it.

If Shepard's character is being dictated to me - then this is not a RPG.

=====

And yes, DaySeeker -

You're temperance is heard and I agree. I was irritated that threads were locked down because of bigots - while people with a valid complaint have been marginalized.

I'm done until I see what has become of ME 2.

That's what I've decided... It's not worth fighting since we -still- don't know for certain... The ones who say no just say no because they don't want it there. There's been no reliable no as of now other than Casey's off the wall remark that was more confusing than factual. *shrugs*

Remove ALL the romances from the game. After all - it's not a dating sim.

Put your money where your mouth is and agree to this if that's what you really believe.

I would actually be all for this, I think romance in games is a bit clumsy at best, awkward and immersion breaking at worst.  But, if their gonna set the precident in the first game with ANY same sex romance (Liara, and anyone that says it's not same sex is grasping at straws) then it's gonna be expected that they include it in the second game, perhaps even expand upon that concept with the sequal.  Removing the option is only asking for trouble.

It would be like having GPS in a car as standard for 3 years and then the next model doesn't have it, it would be considered a step backwards.  Ultimately Bioware are the ones that raised the bar and put the assumption in peoples minds.

Anymore I'm only arguing for the principle of the thing, six LI's and all the paragon/renegade dialogue/scenes is a lot to create and to purposfully exclude the now expected same sex option/s ignoring their own prior buisness practices just seems ignorant of the known blowback that would occur.  At this point I don't expect them to actually put any same sex LI's into ME2, but damn if I don't hope that they'll learn a lesson by all of this and include it in the third installment.

you're playing the role of commander shepard. the only thing you choose is if he is neutral good or chaotic good.

the only other real choice you have is who you sleep with.

If they didn't included that F/F relationship with Liara thing in ME1, it would be perfectly fine in terms of fairness to the Romance options, but alas Bioware created a double standard here...

This Kasumi character and Zaeed are pretty much your only hope for the inclusion of same-sex options in ME2. If it turns out they're not, could you all please express these requests on another outlet instead of these forums?

Sure at least that way my Shep won't be the only one not getting any. ^_^

Still. I wouldn't have minded Garrus or Thane (heck they could even use the whole "its not gay if its an alien because they have no gender." excuse with Thane and I wouldn't care. :(

I don't care about gay romances either way but being the male perv that I am I wouldn't mind some hawt lesbian action.

The FOX thing wasn't about homosexuality, it was misinformation about the sexual aspect of the game (i.e. that is was more than a 20 clip at best near the end of the game). Considering EA's responce to it, I don't think that that is the reason, nor do I think that the reason is actually malign. That's why I'm supporting a same sex romance DLC instead of calling BioWare out.

I know the Fox thing wasn't about homosexuality, but it was about sexuality. Misinformed, absolutely. Ignorant assumptions, definitely. I don't actually believe its because of the Fox thing, but I can't figure out why JE had it, DAO had it, ME1 had it... but reportedly ME2 has none of it.

I also don't buy the whole "it doesn't fit with the story" nonsense, because JE's story and DAO's story could have been equally as good without having it in (assumption; I've never played DAO) but they included it.

Again, this is all just me frustrated because I want Tali. :crying:

I understand your concern about this forum, but this is the best place for us to be heard by devs, and now that the detractors have started spamming their threads, leaving our 1 alone, we look like the good guys again, so we can keep this here and not really have to worry.

Wasn't that ...what...we...said? I mean we said you had more choices then that what with the whole "Mass Effect is YOUR story" thing but isn't the choosing who we romance what we're talking about?

Alas, for the things that could've been... :( I am sadness and disappoint. Why do you make me cry, BioWare? Why?
