Sigh.. yes Tali was loud but that wasnt the reason they (Or should i say I ^^) got what we wanted. Tali was already a planned romance in ME 1 but scrapped since the developers thought she wouldnt be popular. And garrus is just a fanservice to femsheps since the moaning would be insane if the males got Tali and females got nothingERJAK2 wrote...

contrast that with the various "same sex romance support" forums... a majority of the posts are either: indifferent, anti same sex romance, or flamewars/argument posts.
I am not a hater and it wouldn't bother me at all to have some Bisexual lovin' going on in the mass effect universe... all i'm saying is that if bioware were actually looking at these forums to help them decide whether or not to include same sex romance then it might actually make them LESS inclined to include t hem instead of more.
Actually you both are wrong supporters or people who dont care outnumber the bigoted haters 2 to 1.
http://social.biowar...110/polls/1358/
You might argue about not everyone voting on the poll but a sample size of 350+ and rising is darn good for a forum of this size.
I have zero problem whatsoever with homosexual content being added to the game. What I do have a problem with is promoting the idea that if you whine about something enough you'll automatically get it. I understand that this was an issue before the whole gay love interest debate was brought up, but it shouldn't be encouraged nonetheless. At least in my opinion, anyway.
I hate it too, but we were completely silent between ME1 and ME2 and got screwed, Tali/Garrus was loud and got a lot. We didn't set the precedent.
BIOWARE, it's 2010, players should have a same-sex romance option.

I'm a straight male gamer and I'm fairly certain I'm part of a large segment of the fanbase that finds f/f relationships to be more entertaining.
I wouldn't have had much of a problem if there had been no F/F relationship in me1. I would have had a relationship for the achievement and moved on, because I didn't find either kaidan or ashley to be very compelling or interesting.
But the femshep/liara option was there and I enjoyed it a lot and build a character around it. (Actually, I tried to hit on tali first, but she didn't want me. She still won't, but that's another story.) Clearly at the very least she's bisexual because she's willing to get naked with something that has curves and breasts and a female voice actor. Er, I mean voice.
Now when ME2 was being advertised they went on and on about how there were way more romance choices this time around, and that we'd all be very tempted to cheat on our LI's because they would all be so well written and compelling.
Except for you! You get a super easy choice to stay loyal and a less interesting story, because your character is straight now even though she had sex with something that sounds and looks almost exactly like a human female.
It's a little disappointing. I'll make male characters later for all the romances but I won't enjoy them nearly as much as if the shepard that I'm the most interested in and emotionally invested with were dealing with them.
Personally, I would pay for romance DLC, and it would make me very happy. I wouldn't even be annoyed at having to do that, even though part of me feels like I'd be entitled to it (the annoyance) if I were. This is my highest suggestion, but of course I only want them to do it if they think that it would make money. I think it's very likely that it would.
I would also suggest not to shy away from controversy entirely as a company, because really, each of those fox news stories were free advertising. I bet there were a lot of people who would not have heard of the game who did because of the coverage of the F/F romance. Did it turn away enough people to offset that? I find it unlikely. How many highly conservative gamers were on the fence about buying ME1 and then said "What? I can sleep with an alien? I DONT WANT THIS ANYMOAR."
By all means, seek out a little controversy. There's always money in it. :3

I will however state that religion is not allowed to be discussed on this thread, as has been stated by previous dev lockdowns. Please do not bring it up anymore.
You realize that talking about something directly opposed to the tenets of most major faiths around the world is bringing religion into it, right? It's literally impossible to discuss homosexuality without involving religion. That being the case, all of these threads should be closed.

Just so you guys know. Both sides of this arguement are being stupid (I used a nice word so as not to hurt your ears)
Im against homosexuality. Its because Im a christian and I know thats not how God intended for it to be. But I dont hate homosexual people (of course I dont hate hitler eitherOMG! Did he really just say that?!). I accept them as they are, Ill tell them that homosexuality is wrong, but if they dont get in a huge fuss about it then I would remain friends with them. That siad, adding a homosexual romance to the game doesnt really bother me (tho if he comes on to you as easy as Zevrhan did then ill
, but Im tough ill get over), theres already violence and pre-marital sex and stuff in the game. I know it isnt exactly Godly. But I dont get why people who want it have to make so many threads about it and get all upset and say "The gays arent represented" (They are "represented" in planty of other places). I also dont see the need for so many threads. And before someone jumps down my throat saying "There are so many threads about it because of people like YOU" (I mean seriously you arent ACTUALLY fifty feet tall, thats the massive pedestal youve made for yourself your standing on), yo u guys are also contributing to the derailing of the tread by responding to the trolls and by being trolls yourselfs. Could you guys be any more hypocritical?! I mean BOTH sides here too. Seriously ALL of you need to have some more maturity here. Its quite pathetic. But continue if you like, it is mildly amussing...

No. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are not most of the major faiths in the world. Majority don't care who you screw. >_> Just those religions are the most annoying and loud of them all.
Honestly I don't even mind religion its organized religion that needs to burn. <_<
Edit: Sorry I won't bring up religion anymore. It just upsets me when someone uses a belief system that's archanic and believe it was okay to rape and torture women and that they were only property to justify present day beliefs and actions.

Take a simple course on surveys and statistics, if you ever get the chance. People being apathetic about something doesn't mean they want it, it just means they aren't strongly opposed. Including "Don't care" in the "Yes" answer skews your results because there could be one person saying yes and 200 who don't care, as opposed to 50 saying no.

Actually Christians and Muslims combined outnumber all other faiths, with a total of something like 3.6 billion adherents. That means the majority of the population on Earth follows faiths in which homosexuality is condemned. Get your facts straight.

Just a question here, not an argument, but:
Does anyone here know for a fact that L/G romances of any kind(not getting into the whole argument about where Asari are female or not) do not exist in the game? As in a quoted source that flat out states, "There are no m/m or f/f romances in Mass Effect 2." Or, is this entire post based on the supposition that they do not?
Seriousely I would like to know, it will not affect me buying the game, but it will dissapoint me a bit. I have always enjoyed the stories that Bioware creates before(I've played Every one of their titles over the years), but to be honest both DA:O and some of the things I've seen and read here on the forums have left me scrathing my head in confusion.
If someone has a post with what I asked for above please link it, I may very well have missed said post(trying to go back to school after 20 years has made for a hectic schedule)Thank you for your time.

Translators never translate perfectly so his posts would be error ridden in grammer if he really was using one.
But besides that.
Trust me, the only reason you talk about yourself in the third person is because you INTEND to do so. Its not by accident and where he does or doesnt come from really doesnt enter the topic.
However, based on his knowledge of recent happening in California, Id hazzard guess thats his real location cause most everyone else ignores whats happens in San Fran. Not sure where you live but did you know the results of recent (year old) San Fran bi election results? I sure didnt and I watch news every day.
Hell South Park made a whole episode making fun of San Fran on that fact.

You don't really know how important something is until you don't have it anymore. Bioware themselves swung the door wide open for this sort of discussion when they placed Liara in the first game and then touted themselves as a groundbreaking company that "doesn't shy away" from controversy.

And yes apathetic people are just as good for the poll. The catalyst for the poll was repeated statements that most people would NOT want gay relationships in the game. As explained further in the polls comments I don't care if they do or do not want to participate in them only that they at the least don't care.
