Sad panda.
BIOWARE, it's 2010, players should have a same-sex romance option.

anyways. So who out of the ME2 cast would you have liked to have been a bi romance? Me I'd have preferred Jacob. He gives M!Shep these looks. And their dialogue screams of ho yay to me. But then again that's just me projecting. Thane would have been okay too but Garrus would have been awesome. Joker I wanted Joker most of all but he's doesn't seem to be a romance option for anyone sadly.
Samara for both males and females is what I wanted and always thought was gonna be in the game anyway. Also, conceptualy, SuZe looked very much like a bi option.
Besides that, for the men I thought Thane was the most obvious, his "Jersey Shore" open shirt and all

I would love to see two gay choices for each gender; give us a choice between love interests like the straight romances have. Not too realistic, but I'll let that slide in my game where I travel to other planets and kill aliens. Two for each, an alien and a human love interest, chosen out of the current pool in Mass Effect 2.

Thane seemed the most interesting to me in terms of concept, and the idea that he wasn't a male romance option was actually, unironically shocking to me.

I agree. I would like to see Jacob and Thane as love interests for a male Shepard. For females, I would like to see Subject Zero (for reasons we really are not supposed to talk about) and a female alien love interest that everyone knows about but is still considered a spoiler so out of respect for this forums rules I will not name her.

Last time they claimed there were plans, but time constraints held them back. They don't really have that excuse now since there have been no delays at all and there was enough time to create what is essentially fluff stuff with things like the fish tank and things you can customise your Normandy with. They're neat additions, but I'm pretty sure there are people who would prefer more options romance wise than this. Hell... is it so much work to simply remove the restrictive gender tags and have a few extra pieces of dialogue recorded, even just for just one love interest option of either gender. ME1 at least had Liara for Femsheps... seems ME2 doesn't even have an equivalent as far as that goes.
And I say this as a heterosexual male who wouldn't even pursue a gay male romance. I primarily play Femsheps and want my hot lesbian sex, I admit that... but I also think that those who want their other options should be able to have them too. It only seems fair, and gives people more choices and more of a personal touch to their Shepards. If they want to play their Shepard as a gay or lesbian, then they should have the option... particularly in these modern times.
I guess the only thing we can hope for now is that with enough pleading BioWare may release a patch or fix or something as some form of DLC. Sure, PC owners may be able to mod such a thing themselves, but it would likely screw up the savegames and cause massive problems for ME3. Only an official patch would truly suffice.
The thing I don't get the most is how BioWare pretty much pioneered the gay/lesbian romance in mainstream gaming... and now seem to have completely backed out in an almost cowardly display of flip-flopping on the issue.

Because I'm a hypocrite.
And yeah, I thought Thane would be gay too. Dresses nice, fish face, bare chest? Hellz yeah. Glad he's not though. That means he'd get to be an awesome character, not a side joke character like Zevran.
Oh look, now I'm flaming too. Weird.

^^This, I really don't understand it.. You build a sequal from nearly the ground up concerning new characters, even a few that could easily be considered for Bi options (Thane/SuZe, or Samara), make 6 of them LI's and "whoops" back out on the option of any of them being a Bi option... It's completely unlike Bioware to do this when they've garnered such critical acclaim for adding such things into past games.
