SuZe was yet another shocking omission, yeah. Not only has she had bisexual experiences in the past, she also seemed like the perfect contrast to the super-nice, polite, nerdy Liara from the first game. It would have been pretty organic.

I wouldn't hold out hope on Zaeed, he looks around 50 -60 in the screens I've seen, unless your shep is into that sorta thing, then by all means, keep the hope alive

It's amusing and sad to see the irrational ire this issue rises in some of our fellow fans. Some masks are being dropped, all I can say.

All these "funny" copy cat topics. It really does say something that sex with a bird like alien with an exoskeleton and mandibles is more acceptable than m/m or f/f. The Tali and Garrus fans never did face this much spite and anger.

On topic, Zaeed and Kasumi are indeed the last hope for ME2. Zaeed in particular would be a refreshing m/m love interest in a video game. I understand some gay men had apprehensions about Zevran because of his promiscuous nature and pretty boy looks. The straight female slash fans, OTOH, might not be all that excited about this big bear of a man...

I know I am little late to respond to this but my hypothesis for this is that Bioware never satisfies everybody and thus tries to maximize potential satisfaction.  With ME1 we had Liara, Ash, and Kaiden.  Hetereosexual females complained about Liara being one of their options thus only having 1 heterosexual option, Kaiden, and that they wanted as many options as males.  Some heterosexual males complained that well they got Ash and Liara but they really wanted Tali.  Bioware has limited resources allocated to romances, they might believe or even researched that any given new hetereosexual romance would have a potential greater demand than a homosexual relationship.

Or it could be as others have stated before, including myself, that the authors just didn't have any gay or bi characters this time around. 

I think people are jumping to conclusions that the reasons behind the lack of gay/bi characters are more nefarious than they actually are (DA:O, ME1, JE, Bioware has a decent record here) however I did see ME2 ads during the football games today which were out of place to say the least imo and almost caused my brother in law to go into an Ogre (Revenge of the Nerds) like rage.

I personally hold little hope for the DLC characters, but then again, I was dead certain that we'd have bisexual Samara and Thane.  Or, rather, I thought we'd have bi Samara and hoped we'd have bi Thane, while secretly suspecting the m/m was actually Jacob.  Ahahahaha...

The whole point though is why increase the number of LI's from all their previous games and leave that option out when with far fewer LI's in other games they managed to squeeze one in, two in the last?  Seems ignorant of the feedback it would cause at best, purposfully excluding at worst.

Subject Zero seemed like a classic bisexual to me... lol. I'm shocked that she isn't a female option, not that I would have bothered. I just don't know why Dragon Age can have a legit lesbian romance and not Mass Effect (asexual Liara aside)

but do you guys honestly think they will make a DLC that includes a character than is bi/lesbian/gay? even if they do their pretty much making money off of it which is rather disturbing. which forces me to belive that will never be any DLC that introduces same sex relationships.



Even if they do they better make it fair for both gays and lesbians and not just lesbians. I can't stand unfairness between the two.

Really, because Bioware promotes telling them what to do as they always boast about listening to fan feedback and implementing changes their fans want.. next troll *yawn*

It's funny, some of Jacob's scenes with MaleShep are at least equally, if not more suggestive than the ones with Kaidan in ME1. "Fraternization" indeed... Probably writing for gender neutral Shepard, that will advance into something more personal with FemShep, but it's still there.

I never said they could make every fan happy, as is evident with this thread being in existance today, they do however boast about adding content their fans want (Tali/Garrus LI's) or remove content their fans criticize (pointless exploration etc)

But I do agree that there should be a bi/lesbian/gay option since the first one had .. atleast one
