BIOWARE, it's 2010, players should have a same-sex romance option.

I guess it really was too late to pull up; might as well run the thread completely in to the ground, I guess.

So I can post harmless fluffy shounen ai pics again?

Yay! :wizard:

I'm not against the idea.

Perhaps though, for the sake of BW, you should you some longer gaps between image posts ;p

Oh fine then 1 pic per 2 pages?

Or 1 pic per page?

Hm..decisions, decisions.

I don't want the people on our side to get upset.

Why would anyone get upset by that?

I mean... why would anyone who's feelings you care about get upset by that :P

Yeah, I would.

Despite my earlier comments you may have been right. It certainly seems to be an immediate deterrent to those who find the topic distasteful. Honestly; my own disappointment with the community is my own fault. It's my fault for expecting better. You'd think people would be capable of coherent discussion rather than just posting reaction images, hate-rants and spam... but this is, after all, the internet.

You could even go as far as to make it more relevant to the point you're trying to make.

Example;

HEY GUYS, I WENT AND POSTED MORE...HOWD YOU LIKES DEM APPLES?!

Who do you think Bioware would be most likely to make BI if they did decide to make gay DLC?

SuZe or Miranda for the gals (tho there are rumors SuZe is actually Bi already, just not a romance), Jacob or Thane for the dudes.

Or... Just make Zaeed gay and Kasumi (assuming Kasumi's even a "she") lesbian, in such a way that Shepard needs to be the one initiating the romance with a clear as crystal convo option. So the kiddies don't get a faceful of GAY by accident.

Handheld completely agrees with you its sad that more people cant discuss things like the civilized people were supposed to be instead were stuck with a bunch of ignorant people who bash things such as religion or sexual preference. It saddens handheld that there are only a handful of forumites who actually use logic within there posts.

To be fair, I find it hard to separate the two at times. Troll-ee and Troll-er are almost indistinguishable; to me, it’s just one bad post after another. Oh well. I’ll leave you all to it. You have my condolences.

There is no reason to lock this thread - doing so would only increase the board clutter. That said, the purpose of the thread is to signal to Bioware that  many gamers support a same-sex romance option so let's try to stay on topic :).
Romance is part of the relationship-building taking place in building the team to take on the collectors and as such we argue that this makes it an important and integral part of the game.

Adding same-sex romance, even if only one per gender who can swing both ways would heighten immersion (and replayability) for:
- homosexual gamers who would like a chance to interact more meaningfully with in-game characters they can better identify with;
- male and female gamers who play as an opposite sex character and want their Shepard to experience the game according to the gamer's orientation;
- RPGers who enjoy the choice to experiment and welcome having a greater choice of options.

I suspect that these three groups represent a not insignificant part of the gamer base. It would be fantastic if Bioware would take their wishes into account as they have done in some of their past and recent titles.

It's not about winning it's about a group of people with overlapping interests wanting to get their voice heard. There is absolutely no point in diluting the argument. It's more constructive to ignore trolling and address legitimate postings. Let's try to stay on topic? :)

Surface...you're making the puppy sad. :crying:

I hope you're not Bioware who bottles its tears and laughs manically.

I know my tears have been taken by Bioware for no MM in ME.

I support it, only in addition to hetero/xenophilic, not instead of.

There is no reason to exclude gays. It shouldn't be too resource costly to add a single gay option for each gender, hopefully as DLC.

Again, I support gay LI's in addition to, not instead of, hetero or xenophilic. There is a market for all three.

Fear not, for last I checked we (sane ones) only want a romance to enjoy, not to take away or replace the straight ones that already exist. B)

Handheld thinks that you are a forum ogre no questions asked and seriously Handheld doesnt think you played the first game otherwise you would know that romances are not about reproducing.

Handheld thinks Ogreising attempt= FAIL.

Stepping away from the images for a moment.

I'm curious. Being straight/male myself, I've still always enjoyed exploring the f/m relationships in-depth (though I'm still yet to really scratch the surface with Zevran, despite all the probing my male Human Noble has done).

Question is, what do others feel on the matter? Assuming there isn't a same-sex relationship to explore, will you still enjoy the game for what it is, and attempt to make the most out of it by exploring the existing relationships, despite them not mirroring to your own RL feelings?

I've actually seen one person refer to the hetero relationships as "crappy", which seems a tad closed-minded to me, but hey...

:unsure:

*Edit - I actually have no clue Ethan...I'm more creeped out by L in the wedding dress. Reminds me far too much of Helena Bonham Carter in Fight Club 0_o

For what game DA? I loved the straight romances. Then again I <3 Alistair.

ME though? The romances were fine (not as good as DA but that's a given seeing as how much longer the game is).

I'll still enjoy the game, but I won't explore the straight relationsips.  They just don't interest me.

In my case, I only find Jacob, Miranda, and perhaps SuZe (for certain few Renegades or a particularly saintly Paragon) plausible romance material for my Sheps of the f/m romances. I would feel the same about FemShep/Tali or MaleShep/Garrus, not interested at all.

I'm not interested in chicken legs, fish men, or lizard/birds with mandibles.

I do plan to explore and hopefully enjoy the Miranda, Jacob, and SuZe romances. And Kelly, too.

Yeah but I think that's mostly because Alistair is the best done romance I've ever played. I don't think I'd like DA as much if Alistair wasn't in it. :blush:

I'm used to L being in a wedding dress that doesn't creep me out at all. I guess after you have some time to get used to it. :lol:
