BIOWARE, it's 2010, players should have a same-sex romance option.

Stepping away from the images for a moment.

I'm curious. Being straight/male myself, I've still always enjoyed exploring the f/m relationships in-depth (though I'm still yet to really scratch the surface with Zevran, despite all the probing my male Human Noble has done).

Question is, what do others feel on the matter? Assuming there isn't a same-sex relationship to explore, will you still enjoy the game for what it is, and attempt to make the most out of it by exploring the existing relationships, despite them not mirroring to your own RL feelings?

I've actually seen one person refer to the hetero relationships as "crappy", which seems a tad closed-minded to me, but hey...

*Edit - I actually have no clue Ethan...I'm more creeped out by L in the wedding dress. Reminds me far too much of Helena Bonham Carter in Fight Club 0_o

Well I don't mind some of the heterosexual romances. I really enjoyed Leliana's in DA:O, (gay male here) moreso than Zevran actually but I still thought she had absolutely no reason to love a man... just my opinion. And after seeing some of the ME2 ones there's one I won't mind pursuing but I'll say nothing on that. Having the option however for same-sex is still always better than not having it.

I'll be honest though the first time I romanced Zev was for the achievement. Yes guys I wanted to lengthen my e-peen.

I'm a horrible roleplayer.

Though that's also the same reason I spared Loghain. >_> And to get what I considered the 100% perfect ending. (The complete and utter destruction of my romance with Alistair notwithstanding).

Though I romanced Leliana (accidently) as a female. O_o

Honestly I love how with Zev you can break it off at any time bu Leliana practically jumps you. All I did was talk about my hair and all of a sudden she's all like. "What are you doing with Alistair?"

Lolwut?

I say no.  Not because I'm more of a religious type.  I believe people should do what they want, but I just don't think it's right.  And if you're bi, you're gay, end of story.

Agreed on Leliana. To me she comes off as being more into gals than guys.

Zevran was well done, but the pretty boy looks and the promiscuity... I can understand why some gay men wished for Alistair instead. That's why I think it'd be great if someone completely non-flamboyant like Jacob or even Zaeed was the bi or even pure gay option.

Handheld thinks your using the term incorrectly if your bi technically you prefer both sexes which you cant call gay as a male still wants a female and a female still wants a male however they want to have the option of same sex as well.

So Handheld thinks if your BI you have more options.

Bi people get the best of both worlds.

Yeah but I think that's mostly because Alistair is the best done romance I've ever played. I don't think I'd like DA as much if Alistair wasn't in it.

Seem to be getting some pretty varied responses on the matter. I definitely agree with you though Akrim. My take on it, is that I'd prefer the ME2 team to have felt as if they'd really nailed character design, to the extent any significant changes to them would be deemed compromising to overall character design.

However, I'm still surprised that the options aren't there considering the strength of BW writers. It really is a shame for those that feel m/m f/f should be a staple.

P.s. Swooping is bad.

P.p.s. I still can't stop laughing whenever I see him in that wedding dress.

L.

Not Alistair.

Riiiight there with ya on that... When I found out all of Alistair's mindless flirting was for nothing I about cried :P I could easily mod it so that wasn't too much of a problem but I like to play the characters the way the devs designed them... I love how they go and include these great same-sex romances/characters in the novels for the games yet they change it or leave it out entirely for the actual games. *shrugs*

I'm really looking forward to one of the females(as a male) in ME2 so I'm not completely unreasonable and please people it's not ALL about sex...

And now you have firmly placed the image of Ali in a wedding dress marrying my Male Cousland. XD Thanks for that. 'Tis a cute mental image. <3

Get married then run off to rejoin the grey wardens. GWs to the end.

Handheld agrees they truly are the winners of this competition.

Handheld however thinks this man wins above all.

Handheld thinks that the game has probably become more complicated than its worth. Handheld remembers trying to play that yu gi oh crap and the magic the gathering and they were both way to complicated for there own goods.

Darth...

damn it my water went out my nose. :D

@Handheld: Though Yu-Gi-Oh! was understandable (Never got into Magic: The Gathering) the cards at least told you what the heck you were supposed to do. >_>

And if you were completely confused you could just watch the anime/read the manga.

Handheld thinks forum orge is ogreish and you have no place within these forums.

Handheld also thinks that there might be some history behind you having a problem with things being shoved down your throat.

You can tell Handheld, Handheld will keep it secret.
Handheld makes an internet promise.:)

@ whatever

What agenda ?

If there are people, grown-ups, who choose to love one another, then they should do it.

I think the reason for all this up-heated discussion was the dissappointment, that Allistair was strictly meant for the girls.

And btw, even me, being a bisexual man, find Zevran repellent.

I just love my Alistair^^

So, I think, it's not only about religious beliefs or morality, it's about manhood...who is a man and who is not...

Funny, that those questions never rose, when it comes to the f/f-romance with Leliana...

So why are so many people afraid ?
