BIOWARE, it's 2010, players should have a same-sex romance option.

Please explain to me how Yeoman Kelly's catsuit and booty-shaking stripper dance fits in the story, and homosexuals don't. Seems like a glaring double-standard to me, but maybe I'm missing something.
Yeah, Kelly made sure to bring her catsuit along just in case Commander Shepard would be hot and into her.
*Kelly Chambers is packing for the SUICIDE mission. She opens up a drawer, and pulls out a pink cr_tchless catsuit*
Kelly: "Hey Jacob?"
Jacob: (in another room) .......
Kelly: "Jacob!"
Jacob: "What?"
Kelly: "Is Commander Shepard a man or a woman?"
Jacob: "Woman........ ........ Why?"
*Kelly throws catsuit back in drawer, slams it shut*
Kelly: "Just wondering..."

Is there at least FemShep/Kelly? Or not? If yes that would be at least somehow something that could be called in some way "nice" or anything like that.

Well, her face makes sense when you consider that FemShep can only be a straight gal now. Being that close to a hot female would make her very uncomfortable.
She secretly wishes she was cuddling Garrus instead of Kelly.

hahahaha, I knew they would throw in somekind of fanservice for the lesbian fanboys.

But it's not as... what, hot? as with MaleShep?
I guess we should be thankful for small favors and all. I haven't watched any of the love scenes, but the word out there is that Bioware blinked in the face of the media "storm" and they are now much tamer than the already PG13 scenes of ME1.
Hopefully it's not as awkward as the "straight through his pants" undie sex of DA:O...

Well..... I guess that's..... good news?
I'm pretty sure the dudeShep scene is exactly the same. He even has the same weird expression on his face.

The "romances" seem great, but the Kelly-thing is just plain ridiculous.
Kelly: " Here, I'll sit on your lap. "
Shepard: "
Kelly: "What about a little dance?"
Shepard: "
Kelly: "Let's cuddle on your bed."

Yes, that's all it is really. Bioware has decided to scrap meaningful relationships between two women, and have instead opted for extremely soft-core lesbian 'porn'.

I highly doubt I'll do it either. It's totally cheesy.
And it's weird. Kelly just hangs out in your quarters all day in her catsuit, drinking champagne. What the heck?

There should only be same sex romance options if in fact the NPCs you can have romances with are gay or lesbians. Regardless of what you think should be, not everyone is homosexual or have homosexual tendencies. In fact only 2% in a given mammalian species are homosexual or show homosexual tendencies.
I am in support if it makes sense for story wise and it fits the setting. Placing homosexual romances for the sake of just having a homosexual romance but otherwise does not fit in the story or themes of the game I do not support.
^This
There is an entire species of discount lebians in the ME universe. It fits the story. And in western civilizations it's between 2-13% with estimates in the U.S. and Canada being around 10. Beyond that there is evidence of a slow increase in said percentages.
It fits the story just fine.
What discount lesbians? I didn't catch that reference.
Furthermore, a 10% population....even increasing in the US and Canada is still VERY small. The chance that Shepard or his 5 crewmates from ME1 would be homosexual is unbelievably slim. Furthermore, expand that out to 10 crewmembers, the chances are still very very slight that there would be a homosexual among them.
If I name 10 of my friends, not a single one is homosexual. I would have to expand to maybe 100 aquientences to find 1, and I live in Chicago and goto a liberal school in a liberal area.
The US's population is about 300 million out of 6.5 billion. Take 10% of that (that number isn't accurate btw, its more like 3%) and you get a small fraction of the worlds population in that range.
Then lets be serious....what percentage of that small percent would you imagine on a battlefield? Most of the homosexuals I know aren't really up for shooting, killing, blood, and guts.
So you want Bioware to add something that's not realistic, but so that your personal preference of an option is in the game?
It's not realistic, and it's not needed. Bioware, just like lot's of other people and companies, have to keep the moral compass of the majority in mind.

thats all it ever is. Im not tryin to be mean but the only reason lesbian stuff like this gets into any non porn game is for pure fanservice. its mostly aimed at the male audience.... not "lets put in something for the lesbian gamers" its sad but true...

Edit: Boards are f'ed up... my response didn't get included. Weird. Anyway, totally agreed. But, at least they're keeping good, story-driven romances in the game instead of including completely random gay romances.Phate Phoenix wrote...

Oh, what a cliché.
There's much more homosexuals in the army, the police or "criminals" that you seem to imagine, and it has nothing to do with liking (or not) to shoot and kill people.
That being said from the woman that I am, enlisting in the army this summer.
