BIOWARE, it's 2010, players should have a same-sex romance option.

As for the guy/guy relationships.. - Can't remember any game I've played that had such implemented.

:)

Dragon Age and some other games have had it as well. Heh. Fairly unrelated to your post otherwise though. Not agreeing. Not arguing.

They kiss near the end of the video. Homophobes may want to um . . . steer clear. <.<

'Mod' though. Not to critizise Dragon Age, but I couldn't stand it at all.

Regardless, Wether or not a Pixel Char gets another should be the least of worries when playing a game.
It's the moment when you should realize that you're taking that a bit too seriously.

I personally won't mind if it was added, I even put my vote for 'Yay' - But I can't fiercly stand behind it, simply because I don't see the need for it.

On that sidenote, since we're at it.

I've seen no option to make a transsexual Shepard/Romance Option. That minority is even smaller yet also deserves to be added into it. Or will that take another few decades till that'll be socially accepted? Homosexual people are sure well at throwing tantrums, without realizing that there are many minorities that just accept it as it is, and have not even close to 10% of the rights/acceptance they achieved.

And no, I don't hate any kind of gender nor sexual preferance. Thanks.

Meh I can't do that. In the end to me its JUST A GAME. Not a lifestyle. OF course I'm not bashing people who feel this way but to suggest that everyone does that or should do it is nonsense.

I haven't read the whole thread, and through and through, I do not intend to batch those who thinks its a shame its not in it and don't make it a big case. I do have a problem with, and think very poorly of, those self-entitled people in this thread who DEMAND that Bioware create a gay option or they will boycott it.

It is a shame that not everyone could be pleased with this game, but thats the way of life. Throwing a tantrum or crossing your arms and pouting because you don't get your way is just pathetic for anything, not just this topic. Those are the people I target with my posts.

Wait what? Where the heck did you get that from my posts?

I thought it was be nice to have it. Frankly I'd prefer to have it but its not the end of the world if its not in there. (Granted that was the one factor in if I bought the game new vs. used) but yeah.

Bah. Maybe if I'm lucky my roomie's friend will give me his copy after he beats it.

And frankly they have a right not to buy the game because it lacks a gay option, just like someone has the right NOT to buy the game because of said gay option.

Just like some have the right not to buy the game because its a shooter/they don't like the story or any other ridculous reason. Its their money. PERIOD.

People dropping and boycotting games over one or two features are nothing new.
But this thread is not about them. As the title suggests, it's about support for same-sex romance options. Not whining. Not discussing merits or wrongness of homosexual relationships at large. And certainly not about calling people loosers for wanting to play through emotionally engaging romance sub-plot.
Thus those who "don't understand why people want such option" or "don't understand why people want romance in RPGs at all" should kindly leave this thread as to not breed off-topic.
EDIT: posts saying "Bioware will never do it" have no place here too. One, it's not a discussion thread. Two, Bioware did Tali and Garrus romances after thousands of support threads. Thus, chance is present.

Considering that ME's fanbase is mostly male, Bioware made a good decision, which I applaud.

Of course because while straight women are mature and reasonable enough to deal with a lesbian romance men aren't mature or reasonable enough to deal with a homosexual romance that's not lesbian.

Hm. Explains a lot actually. <_<

Indeed...I think the real issue here is that ingame, there ARE lesbian options, but not gay-male options. I'm still just pissed that they have yet to release any statement as to why this is so. Clearly, they did it for a reason.

If all the straight men playing the game had every romance option except to romance a female, maybe they would understand...

To be completely truthful I really wanted two things to happen in ME2: F/F romance and a romance with Joker. So, I get the game and I find out neither is possible, this disappoints. From what Suze said in dialog once I thought I could romance her, and she would have been my first choice, but alas.
I don't understand why having a same sex romance is such a problem. It's like the creators tried to duck controversy by making Suze not romanceable by women at the last moment. I'm not saying you should be able to romance anyone period, but the creators could have easily made an option, at least one for each gender, of same sex romance. They program the characters, they decide which way they swing.
After all there are 15 million people in the US who identify themselves at LGBT, and about 30 million who experience attractions to the same sex. BioWare hopes to identify with the younger crowd, because admittedly most gamers are under the age of forty, and this, this is the demographic that's most in tune with their sexuality and would like to see a same sex romance option.
Don't cut us off like that, please BioWare. It wouldn't be hard to release as a DLC or as part of ME3.
As far as the sex scenes go I can understand that the creators were simply trying to avoid a ****storm from FOX and parents of teens who somehow get the game, but was it really necessary to reduce some romances to just a kiss? My most viable romance option is just that, and I'm disappointed. No nudity =/= no sex.

might be that gays might be less common in the future?

Since a succesfull human colonisation might be based on the ability to reproduce it might be even less practical

Can't deny the cuddling was cute. On the other hand, it sounds like you want a F/F Scene instead, not just an F/F Romance - as that is possible. Sounds a bit odd, you know. Most just tend to 'do' that kind of thing or watch movies about it.

If you're basing your argument on the ability to reproduce you're discarding inter species romance (except with Asari).Posted ImagePosted Image

The consequences of Mass Effect
games matter, and our ME2 saves will be transferred to ME3. I would
like to have an ex, or maybe even a continued relationship rather than
a stripper psychiatrst I saw once to take off some tension. I don't
really appreciate the insult either, please take it somewhere else.

The "cuddling" was the most awkward thing I've ever seen. Did you even LOOK at Shep's face during that scene? I'm not asking for a porno I'm asking for a normal bioware romance (like Miranda's or something).

Honestly though I probably wouldn't even play the F/F romance I mostly want a M/M one.

*sigh* Oh well atleast their's DA.

And Zev's a lot deeper than people give him credit for...even if he is really sleazy.

Bioware's "love scenes" should be locked deep within a mountain vault guarded by automated
sentry guns that shoot any lifeforms within range.
