hmm...sounds like no one else is spawning, and the missing people = conversation failure.  Make sure you have the hak in your hak folder, the override in either your main folder or the campaign folder, and the mod folder in modules.  There should be 12 folders in the override folder.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly :) I was sure I had installed correctly, but just to be sure I deleted everything, went back to the vault and did the following in this order (I'm using NWN2 as an abbreviation for the full directory name):

  1. d/l hauntedhalls.hak 1259KB into Path\Docs\NWN2\Hak
  2. d/l drl_lutehero.hak 112KB into Path\Docs\NWN2\Hak
  3. d/l haunted_halls_8.7z 195718KB into Path\Docs\NWN2\Campaigns and extracted there
  4. d/l override.7z 158267KB into ...\Campaigns\Haunted Halls and extracted there (12 folders in override)
  5. d/l haunted_halls_1_4.7z 27978KB into Path\Docs\NWN2\Mods and extracted there
  6. d/l haunted_halls_2_1.7z 16540KB into Path\Docs\NWN2\Mods and extracted there
  7. Renamed NWN2\Override a_Override

Everything looks as it should be, but I am still no further forward.  I tried extracting both mod files at the same time, individually and even just extracting the first one (try anything once!) as I remember some people had issues with this with BGR, but it has made no difference.  I copied the Override folder into the main NWN2 directory and renamed the one in Cam\HH just to try that as well, still nothing, just me on my lonesome in a jail cell with 5 goblins around the corner.

 

I'm ok, I'm alright, Ain't gonna face no defeat, I just gotta get out of this prison cell, Someday I'm gonna be free... :D

just to be sure, you do have the expansions, MotB and SoZ, yes?

weird...there should be an Orc, and I didn't mod them at all...which means it may be an issue with your version of NWN2.

Hi

I thought it was fully up to date (in order to run SoZ and BGR) but the nwupdater tells me it is 1.020(1541)(Final) Oct 22 2008 16:39:56

attempting to update results in an abort (NASTY RED TEXT) and suggests I try the Atari website.  No joy there...

I then d/l rtp files taking me through to 1231765 and tnt220's patcher from the NWN2 Vault, then followed the instructions here (remembering to disconnect from the internet before running the patcher!):

Just tried it as a test and all is fine... wonder what I'm going to do now ;) :P

Hi Darin

I had problems with M and sorting out the first riddle.  I realised M was supposed to use WF to break the code and so we went back to the room before where I found M.  The conversation said something like "Here, you take it" but nothing appears in my inventory.  Checking the conversation file it would appear M is trying to give me mq_it_******* but the item referred to in the convo file is mg_it_*******.  I've consoled it in and everything is moving on fine now (though M still denies having WF even though I can see it and one bought from a certain NPC in town in M's inventory!!), just thought I'd let you know as I saw someone else have this problem and thought this might be the source or at least help?

Went to sort troll problem out East and all went well, but could not leave mausoleum through front door, had to rs ga_jump_players to a known waypoint outside.  Trying to exit meant a total black out, eventually managed to see a little with a torch and all my party were invisible (so just a floating torch to be seen when I ran around).  All OK once outside but no reward from L, in fact the second time I spoke to him he tried to start the whole quest again, which I ignored. Not bothered, I only went for BoR anyway.  Back in HH and the secret door to where M rests won't open even though Connor has discovered it?  Consoled in a ring of teleport and got around the issue that way and thus managed to finish that quest but thought I'd post it just in case it's not just me...

I seem to have come to a grinding halt.  main quest says I have ring 1 of 7 but B never moves past having trouble with some passages.  Lady T has nothing new to say either, have I missed something? I've waited for a week before going back to B all to no avail :(

2ndly, Strange Dedications.  I think I've cleared the whole area and picked up everything and distributed it to the 3 statues but nothing happens, not even an update to the quest.  Is there any way you can clarify what I should have done here?

You may be at the end of what was written as far as the rings/main quest (and I haven't worked on it in a while).

 

As for the Statues, it's a logic puzzle, you have to get the right combination on the correct statues.  it should work, though one of the clues may be wrong (coded incorrectly, so you get the same clue twice).
