Mmm, I noticed the smaller arms too.

I know elves are meant to have a smaller frame and I'm fine with that...but the extremes of which they go to is not something I'm crazy about.  Of course I was kind of expecting it after DA2, but I was hoping that they might have had a little bit more meat on their bones this time around.  Oh well, poor noodle armed DA elves, they're stuck with it forever now it seems.  :P

When I saw the video my first thought was "Maker, get this man a cheeseburger!"

I honestly thought the male elf was a female until he turned around.

No worries, tone doesn't always translate into text very well.  ;)

Yeah, elves are alarmingly thin, to the point where I cannot take them seriously as warriors. At all. Female elves take it up to eleven

It's not just elven women who have a serious case of noodle arms. Human women as well.   Just *look* at FemQuisitor's arms!!  There is a wrongness to them in this pose that is just.... I SMH whenever I see this pic.   Not only does she have zero muscle, her bare bones are elongated to the point where it looks like they didn't even use actual female anatomy as a reference.

Compare this to Dorian's arm from a similar angle.  It looks like they actually referenced male anatomy.  Female anatomy, not so much.

Yeah alright, it's a little strange that her upper arm looks thinner than her under arm.

Holy moley, just watched the gamespot video and yep....those are serious noodle arms. There's like ZERO muscle to them or anything,

I just wish their arms looked more like humans, not extremely thin like they do.

I wish races had "body" sliders/options, you can still have a "limit" to the extremes (IE so dwarves can't be as tall as qunari and qunari can't be as small as a dwarf) but still give options within the races for different frames/builds.

Being an warrior with a sword has a lot more to do with speed and technique, not really raw strength so meh.

The problem is that the female human, quanri and dwarf have the exactly same structure when it comes to the arms, that makes no sense when the male counterpart is so diverse.

I haven't payed too much attention to the female Qunari's body.  Does she have noodle arms too?  I remember seeing her in mage robes that cover her up, but are her arms laughably thin too?  Disappointing.

She could probably use a bit more bulk, but she isn't as bad, imo. Not exactly as thick as one might expect of her stature, but I wouldn't say they're quite 'noodly.'

Frankly, I'm just glad she's tall.

Does anyone have a screen of him? I've only seen the female elf archer in action from the preview vids.

It even less than the human male, it makes no sense. It should at least be the same thickness.

Hah meh?

I am not a sword fighter(so take it with a grain of salt) but I am an animator (which requires some knowledge of anatomy and body-function) but I disagree, muscle is the along with the bone structure is the basis for any activity and anything else is product there of.

Take parkour for instance: 1 Your body builds the muscle by burning the energy needed to rebuild muscle

                                           2. Our body adapts to the movements by becoming more flexible

Anything you do requires muscle

Ouch, i was happier not seeing that picture. I guess after DA and DA2 the noodles are pretty much just par for the course, but still... sigh.

While that arm is silly skinny, Dorian is pretty build for a guy. There's a reasonable range between the two extremes for both genders.

Human males just get the standard BW bodybuilder shape by the looks of it. It's like the difference between male Hawke in champion armour, and female Hawke in the same gear. (actually i lie, lady Hawke's arms were bit thicker than this)

It's not so much a range, but more of the regular sexual dimorphism amped up to a silly number.

I'm really hoping some good armor will make it look better... I'm really hoping...

Because they look so thin that it actually looks painful, like are you going to be okay carrying that stick? Don't strain yourself now...

Ignoring the "weight" of the arms, they dont look properly proportioned in the pic to me, at all. Is that just a weird camera angle? Cause it looks like the arms of Kevin Durant. >.>

I like  the idea of finally being able to play a male character that doesn't look like he has regular fun time in the steroid cache. Now if only one of the two male voices manages to not sound like they gurgle with gravel in the morning I'll be a happy camper.
