Just cheating on someone doesn't even seem so dark when it's such a common occurrence for normal people, more like a dark side option.

For someone truly dark it needs to be a bit more sociopathic, like cheating on you and then bragging about it. Getting together with you JUST to cheat on you AND THEN bragging about it, or um, doing it for a bet?

Meh then it's not really cheating is it? If the intended "victim" is ok, then no harm no foul. In fact I would see a dark couple actively not wanting to be monogamous to begin with, for why deny yourself the pleasure of another person simply because it's morally good to do so?

I'm kinda in that situation right now to be honest...and it works out ok.

See that wouldn't be cheating would it? Just an open relationship (which honestly I'd be fine with). So *shrug*

Well, in an open relationship one would actually ask whether or not the other person is okay with it before the act. Which is a pretty significant difference, imo.

Uh...no...?

Granted I haven't read all your posts, but from what I've gathered, you're being facetious and dismissive. A darker LI would be cool, and actually, I wouldn't be opposed to him (or her, but I like hims) being an S/S option. I mean, that kind of power is sexy and...excuse me, I need to call my fiancé...

Hm...fair enough I guess. I just don't see my evil PCs caring as long as they didn't catch anything and they didn't throw a fit if they got cheated on. (I'd probably be annoyed on the other hand but that'd be an OOC reaction).

*rolls eyes derisively*

*cries* in my defense I took it as it being implied they'd both be well aware they didn't intend to be loyal since evil.

In some I guess, but as of now, mine is a blanket open. Like if something happens with someone else, put your shades on and deal with it. So long as we communicate about how we feel emotionally towards one another, everything else aint no thang.

Yeah, I find being faithful an veeeeeery opposite-of-dark thing to do. It's one of the things I find extremely admirable on men. Like David Attenborough, didn't think I could love him any more, then I read about his wife's story and how he's been single ever since her passing. :crying:

what?

Like I said, I haven't read everything, but from the few I did, and Ryzaki's reaction, that's what I gathered. If that's not true, then as a Dark (and dark skinned) LI, I choose not to acknowledge your emotions on the matter.

That's a love interest? I thought it was target practice.

Isn't this about romancing villains? And isn't he a villain who's all about love?

So you seem to referring to something completely different.

For example, most people wouldn't consider Bill Clinton a dark person.

Romance is generally understood not to mean killing your partner.

Well, that's why the PC would just happen to look like his complete wife, rather than just containing bits and pieces of her.

Oooh that reminds me of this free otome game I played where trying to redeem the villian ended with him giving you the greatest gift he could offer and killing you.

...Then the protag decided that was beautiful and fed him some poison and they committed a loving mutual suicide.

I was surprised and then really really liked it. It was fitting.

That's not much like Quentin, though.

Does he even live long enough for him to get anything out of his personality other than obsessed?

Just because it is a "normal" occurance, doesn't make it any less dark.

Obsessed is only half what he's got going on. The other half is that he's not able to find all of the parts he wants his Replacement Goldfish to have all in one place.

Going by the typical baddie though, they tend to be extremely possessive to the point of violence and murder.

Typical baddies tend to be stupid evil.

And I'm sure if the NPC is that possessive they'd be well aware the PC's not just gonna let them sleep around without either dumping them or doing some sleeping around of their own. Especially if the PC isn't the stupid good loyal type.

Well, maybe he cheats on the pc, but would murder people if the pc did the same thing.

You mean stupid evil dude who didn't leave well enough alone (5 years of failures are more than enough to learn it's time to cut your losses) didn't do basic research (He thought he was going to take on the freaking Champion and win? Someone who liberated a freaking city from the Qunari probably defeated the Arishok in single combat with a bunch of no name mercenaries? ) and treated his slave (that was his bodyguard) badly enough that his first instinct was to kill him after running away?

Yeah no.

Ah, yes. I remember a time when I became more enamored with the villains than the heroes. I even wrote fanfiction where the good girl, tired of playing it nice, met one of the bad guys and both found in each other their match. Toegether, they always beat the crap out of the nice guys and lived free, being faithful only to each other and telling the rest of the world to go to hell.

And then that phase passed and I started dating. The bad guys of real life proved to be too idiotic for my taste. Turns out the good guys were the best choice, after all.

Fantasizing with villains kinda lost its appeal, then. Funny how things turn out.

I remember after The Dark Knight came out seeing self-insert fanfiction about THE ****** JOKER
