the open world opens up new gameplay possibilities.. I remember that in KOA:R, i could elect to kill a bunch of spiders to save a village or let it burn to the ground.

Do you think we will be able to make world altering decisions like this in da:I?

Well, there's the situation in Crestwood where you can choose to save the keep or the village.

I'm curious to see what happens if you choose to save neither and just goof off.

Maybe to a lesser degree, but I wouldn't anticipate too much in the way of emergent gameplay or dynamic events. This isn't Skyrim and certainly DAI isn't a true open world either. Outside of rifts opening in the wilderness, I expect most things will be tied to side missions or the main story and your choices engaging will largely determine outcomes.

The KOAR is not a dynamic event. It's entirely scripted.
