OP is right... I counted too.

Male Inquisitors only have 3 options (Cassandra, Josephine, and Dorian).

Female Inquisitors have 5 options (Cullen, Iron Bull, Blackwall, Sera, and Solas)

Not entirely fair... but not a big deal to me.  I like both Cassandra and Josephine.

You counted wrong though:

Bi/pan male inquisitor has 4: Cass, Josie, Dorian and Iron Bull

Bi/pan female elf inquisitor has 6: Sera, Josie, Iron Bull, Cullen, Solas and Blackwall.

I did a tally the other night when I was looking through the romance options, and realized that there are probably 2 or 3 more options available to the female inquisitors vs. the male inquisitors. I pondered about even bringing this to attention because of Bioware's positive attitude towards making the first ever solely homosexual companions in the Dragon Age series which needed to be applauded on a side note. I'm just being that guy knowing the male inquisitor is not going to be as fun when i'm trying at every turn not to turn Iron Bull onto me (that's just scary for an Elf). How do you guys and gals feel about it?

I have zero issues because my sexuality does NOT determine how I will play this game.   I plan to play this game way more than once.

I will roll female and male characters. I will try all the romances.   And if you think the characters are instantly going to hit on you...I think you seriously underestimate the abilitie of the writers.

Like several other have said, I'll be playing through with various combinations of genders and sexuality so I'm happy with the whopping 8 romances in the game. If you're a straight player who only likes playing as straight character of your own gender (or indeed a gay player who does the same) you may well have a character of the gender you're not into hit on you. As in real life just say 'Thanks but I'm not into guys/girls/giants with horns'. Problem solved :)

Not wanting to stifle conversation but this has been done a thousand times. Is there any way to summon a mod to lock this thread?

Already reported, can we please just do a quick search before opening new threads people? It just keeps down the clutter and keep discussion from going everywhere

Straight males get spoilt in 9/10 games, so one game out of hundreds is not a big deal. And considering mass effect, and what happened to Straight female players in that game... -_-

ME was pretty much a harem for straight males. The rest got fudged over.

yes it is a lack of Li for straight males and this is not a matter of numbers but this...

make it colored for easy understanding the main problem with lack of Li for straight males

Straight males get:

DAO - 2 humans(1 andrastian non-mage bard/chantry spy, 1 non-nandrastian apostage mage)

DA2 - 1 human pirate, 1 elf dalish mage

DAI - 2 andrastian nobles non-mages humans(1 is a templar/seeker)

Straight females get:

DAO - 1 grey warden human, 1 elf assain

DA2 - 1 apostage mage human, 1 elf super soldier from teviter,(Sebastian does not counted)

DAI - 2 humans(1 templar 1 grey warden), 1 elf apostage mage, 1 kossith qunari spy reaver

Gay males get:

DAO - 1 elf assasin

DA2 - 1 apostage mage  human, 1 elf super soldier from teviter,(Sebastian does not counted)

DAI - 1 human exiled mage from tevinter, 1 kosith qunari spy  reaver

Gay females get:

DAO - 1 human  andrastian non-mage chantry spy

DA2 - 1 human pirate, 1 elf dalish mage

DAI - 1 human andrastian noble, 1 city elf

straight males have a very huge lack of female non-humans and anti  Orlais chantry/templars as mages persons for LI....and in DAI have we 2 kingdoms, many factions to make alliances and  we have 3 non-humans races for inquisitor when males is getting nothing compare to straight females and as gays and lesbians

too much humans,non-mages and  too much pro chantry/templars related content for straight inquisitor..all Li for straight males in DAI mostly created for human pro andrastian, pro Chantry/templars non-mage inquisitor

hoping for a more varied range of LIs for straight males at lest by future story dlc with new companions and i am sure that they would be

Congratulations, you just gave me a headache...   -_-

But seriously, since when does a LI's beliefs restrict the options that straight/LGBT players have?  I don't agree with Fenris' views on mages, yet I've romanced him with one of my f!Hawkes.  I don't agree with the Chantry's beliefs, yet I've romanced Leliana with 2 different Wardens.  Why?  Because I RP my PCs.

Assuming that the red text represents turn-offs, every single LI has turn-offs for certain people.  Some people are able to overlook them and focus on the positives, others can't stand certain LIs because of them.

Either way, I have no idea what point you're trying to make in the first place.

It's not a proper thread about the lack of straight male LIs until Asdrubeal Vect has posted about the fact that all of the straight male LIs are the same - humans who love the chantry, apparently

There is no arguing with him on this.

I'm just pleased he has finally stopped assuming that Josephine & Leliana are ex-lovers, just because they are friends who are both bi.

Arguing with him is futile, you'll just end up with a worse headache than the one you've got. I think anyone who sets such narrow qualifications has no one but themselves to blame when they discover their LIs are greatly limited.

In addition to the giant assumptions that are being made in his post about what the DA: I LI's personalities will be like.  I have pointed out numerous times that there is no evidence that Josephine is a devout Andrastian at this point.  She might very well be, but we don't know that.  His entire thesis revolves around assumptions that may or may not be true.

In DAII, Sebastian came with a DLC and was romanceable even though without the cut scene. I just hope bioware will create the same but with a female dwarf! (I hope a mage dwarf like Dagna)

First, take a look at how many romances there are for maleSheps in ME3, and how many romances for FemSheps in ME3. MaleSheps win hands down.

Inquisitions options has made it even, in my opinion. Guys almost always get more romance options than girls in games. It's nice to see one where that isn't the case.
