The ME1 'romances' were so shallow that they were a complete waste of time. I am fairly sure the ME2 ones will be too. So who cares?

You have a very very small amount of interaction with the old LI, and none of it involves anything close to romance.

We all really don' t know how much interaction there is with the old LI.

BioWare is composed of nothing more than liars, there's no denying that. The developing team's promises are reminscient of Peter Molyneux and Fable 1.

Valid criticism isn't trolling but posting unnecessary pictures with nothing more than themselves might be considered as such. BioWare has shown how incredibly lazy they are with the character-customisation, generic and bland soundtrack, and basically removing all the RPG elements from their game in-favour of an emphasis on action. That sounds like Cruise Control to me.

too bad your criticism isn't really valid...

All the whiny fanboys should probably get comfortable with this subject.

If its an issue before the game is even released officially, its likely to be one afterwards for sure.

Strap something on your sore butts, and expect Bioware to get criticised, just like with ME1. No game is perfect, and the people who buy these games decide its faults. Enough people dont like this aspect of ME2, you better believe its a fault.

If its one Bioware prepared for, and plan to make good on with ME3, hey presto, its all just hot air.

If its not, maybe.... shut up and take it?

Fair enough, but do be warned that the forum users, those who actually talk on the forums, are a very small minority of actuall gameplayers. My point is, is that they told us this already. I mean, did you really expect you were going to bang Miranda or SuZe and the same time as you doing it with Ashley or Liara? Fat chance.

And don't get me wrong; some of the decisions Bioware makes drive up the wall. But over all, they come through.

People were complaining a few days about what happened to Liara on gamefaqs. The discontent is *not* limited to this forum. And this has happened before the release of the game.

We were told that they'd have small roles. Over time, I grew to accept this. But what I cannot accept, however, is a small, very unsatisfactory scene.

There are going to be some very upset people.

I'll be one of those disappointed with the lack of Liara.

I was referring to all forums, actually. And, your definition of unsatisfactory is going to be different than mine. Far as I'm concerned, just knowing that they're safe and sound is good enough for me, and anything else is just icing on the cake.

Further, there are going to be upset people no matter what you do. If we contiuned the same LI's in ME2, people would be complaining about no new ones.

And last but not least, this information (for me anyway) is second-hand, and therefore suspect. I will wait until I have the game in my hands to render judgement.

I understand that.

I've seen the "romance" content. There's not a whole lot of anything that suggests a continuance. It's more like, "Well... maaaayyybeee.... I'll say hi?"

Like I said in a previous post, I certainly wouldn't want to begrudge the Tali or the Garrus fans (etc) for getting the romance they've always wanted.

But it came at the cost of the people that were previously satisfied with the original romances. The devs are right; there will be cheating. But it won't be because the new ones are so compelling. It will be because the old ones have an extreme lack of content.

And that's okay! There's nothing wrong with being disappointed or disagreeing with a decision. But acting like this news and that we've been betrayed somehow is wrong.

Now, if you want to get into a discussion about how we feel about the treatment of our LI's both old and new, I'll happily set up the forum topic.

Funcom lied to it's customers. They promised so much in their game. But they released it and much of what they promised was either broken or missing.

I was very disappointed, and I dealt with it. I stopped paying my subscription to the game.

Bioware never promised us what the OP has said (unless she can provide some sort of evidence).

Were your expectations unrealistic? No, not really. But if you're going to go by the Devs word, then there is no reason for you to feel so decieved.

If you are so disappointed, and you feel Bioware have decieved you, then deal with it. Don't support them, or continue to support them and yell at them or whatever you want to do or don't want to do

I really don't understand people who post in threads they care nothing about. I take the logical route and just ignore threads I don't like or aren't interested in. I do have better things to do.

But I do very much care about the topic of this thread! So, I'll read it and post in it.

Well, I'm satisfied with HOW Bioware pulled off the "Hey, I'm not gonna be able to do you for a while" thing and also hinted that there is a possibility of a continued romance in ME3 after watching streams.

But that doesn't mean I didn't want MORE. Shep gets to bone practically everyone on the ship except her ME1 LI. That just doesn't sit well with me. I'm seriously hoping that Bioware will release a DLC with some ME1 LI stuff, but I just don't know how likely it would be.

Either way, I'm certain that the ME1 LIs will be back in ME3. To what extent, who can say, but I'm sure that if we all whine loud enough about it, we'll be able to get some no pants dance time with them like the Tali/Garrus shippers did.

Idk, they said we could continue our romances into Me3. If they don't enough fans will be angry enough that they'd reconsider. based on what has been leaked so far, we get one to two scenes per li, indicating, leaving it open to be followed up in Me3.

Personally, i would love to have Liara and Kaidan on the squad again in Me3.It's going to feel like theres a huge chunk of the game missing when I play w/o them.

Silly thread is silly.

I'm actually glad they put some realism into it (from what I've seen in this thread). I mean, what did you expect from your ME1 LI? To them, you've been "gone" for 2 years (I won't say what that really means, for some would consider it a spoiler). BioWare has said in multiple interviews that this is the "troubled" part of the "3 act romance," which probably means they'll have a hard time accepting you're back after thinking you've been "gone."

Well, I do care that you care. Or to be clear, it is important that some of us make it clear to bioware that we wish they wouldn't waste their efforts on crappy romances. If I didn't post in threads like this Bioware might get the impression that everyone cared.

Not to mention you "died" and joined a terrorist black-ops group.

Who realistically thought they'd be like, "oh my love, how I've missed you, take me into your arms!" ?

Ah, yes. I understand where you're coming from now. This unfortunatley is a problem that faces all writers, and why some (like Robert Ludlum) prefer to avoid sequels. How do I keep the same characters interesting over multiple story arcs? How do they progress? And in the end, someone is going to end up disappointed.

If I had to guess, Bioware's writing team had much the same discussion as we are having on the forums. Ultimately, they must have had a reason for the road they took, though I doubt they will ever reveal that to us.

I hope, however, that you will find ME3's treatment of the LI's much more satisfactory.

Good Day, my friend.

Im still hopeful that once Shep is done and has completed the suicide mission, some of the post game stuff will be reconnecting some more with former LI from ME1. Still, if you think about it, I imagine some Sheps wouldnt want to put loved ones in harm's way if its not needed. Although I would still love to take them on the Normandy at some point and show all the upgrades! Look! We have showers now!

Since everyone is abit gloomy, a clip from an old favorite show of mine:

Omfg, I know! But yeah, the only thing I"m disapointed about what I've seen of the ME1 LI is the lack of a mom-and-daddy dnace.
