Greetings!

So I'm playing my first PC play-through (consoles previously) of the trilogy, and I just started ME2.
Playing through the first game with modded high resolution textures was spectacular, and I hoped to experience the same in the sequels, but I have so far been unable to make Texmod function correctly.
Everywhere I've read says that it's as simple as running Texmod, directing it to your MassEffect2.exe, adding .tpf files, and hitting "run". The problem, however, is that upon hitting "run" the game starts as usual (no loading on a black screen or anything else that I've been warned about) with absolutely no changes to the textures in-game.

This issue is becoming quite frustrating for me and any help fellow fans can offer would be very appreciated!

Cheers!

You should try it with a batch file and make sure that origins is disabled in game.

Also, it's ME2Game.exe, not the other one.

you have a link to this batch file? I tried googling for it everywhere and could only find the me3 one as a result.

Hey, i'm new to this forum but i've the same problem of the guy of created this thread... So, how to use texmod with mass effect 2 on origin? I've disabled origin in game, but launching masseffect2.exe from texmod doesn't work, and i can't create a good abtch file for me2, while another one for me3 is working perfectly with all mods!

A little help would be appreciated! ;)

And another question is, how i do put some antialiasing into this game? I tried nvidia inspector but that doesnt work.

I had the same prob and it drove me nuts also but im awesome so i figured it out so here it comes:

Disable "origin in game" at Origin settings indeed so it doesnt overwrite tfp's u add.

Down texmod and extract it somewhere u like and then make a copy of textmod.exe and place it in binairies section where ur installation is from ur me2

(normally its C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin/blablabla i think but i installed it on D:\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries on my other ssd so check where ur own install is  ^^ )

  1. So now u have ME2Game.exe ( Origin uses this one and not MassEffect2.exe ) and the texmod.exe file in the same map.
  2. Now rename ME2Game.exe into ME2Game11.exe and rename texmod.exe into ME2Game.exe.
  3. Now launch the game via origin and it will open the texmod window. (this lets Origin think u launch the game but u just launch Texmod this way)
  4. Rename ME2Game11.exe back into ME2Game.exe and the renamed texmod.exe (wich we named ME2Game.exe before) into ME2Game11.
  5. Now direct Texmod to your ME2Game.exe(wich is the correct named launcher again), add ur tpf files, and hit run.

Now it should work and i think its works the same when u have the steam version. Then just do the same with steam instead of Origin and i think then with the masseffect2.exe file but its the same procedure.

You need to do this everytime u start the game though if u want the mods but who cares its easy when u know how to ^^

Good to hear! :D

The mods are spread out all over the web and most are for me3 but i used some of these sites

http://social.biowar.../1547/#projects( allot of moddies )

http://www.nexusmods...searchresults/?

http://forum.bioware...rilogy-edition/

http://masseffectsav...om/textures.php

And then some Sfx settings:
