Good choice.

 

The Chantry going boom, and all the attendant melodrama, was pretty high on the list for me. If Martin Lawrence had been there, he would have said, "**** just got real."

Returning from the Deep roads without Bethany was very dramatic. I agree with the comedy Arishok battle, nothing romantic or heroic about that... Just my rogue running away and ocassional backstabbing, throwing flasks and more running away...

Yup. DA2 is full of all manner of epic weirdness.

Carver dying in the Deep Roads. Had to reload and play all over again.

 

Taking down both a Varterral and Harvester during the course of the game.

 

Beating that High Dragon after a legitimate hour of fighting (thankfully, Anders could revive teammates and he, Varric, Aveline, and Mage Hawke finished it off).

 

Finding Cullen

 

Finding Zevran

 

Seeing Leliana.

 

Seeing Alistair.

 

Beating the Arishock one on one.

 

Unlocking that Champion Armor.

 

Finding out Justice "possessed" Anders

 

Nathaniel Howe ruining my opinion of him (fave from Origins, terrible appearance)

 

Varric's entrance at Bertrand's Mansion.

 

And, of course...

 

Isabela's body. #Epic

The most epic moment for me in Dragon age 2 was:

 

-Anders blowing up the Chantry. I knew it long before it happened, since I had spoiled myself somewhat, but it was still a shocking moment.

 

My Hawke trying to make peace between Meredith and Orsino, and then that happens.

 

I was really shocked, and angry at Anders for what he had done.

 

It really succeeded in making me engaged in the story and ending of the game, that moment.

Well it was kind of a short time ago but it was when I was doing the Tallis DLC where I suckered the guy on the dragon to run off the ledge so I can get free shots. My Hawke, Tallis, Fenris, and Anders commenced a beating. after the battle My Hawke stepped on his hand and watched him plummet to his death. At times my archery Hawke can be a stone cold badass.

Mine is when Hawke is like, "I WILL...NOT OBEY YOU!!!" with the most badass expression ever and then proceeds to gently stab Idunna to her death

I thought a few of the companions had pretty epic introductions. Fenris with his magic fisting. Isabela with her bar fight. And my personal favourite Aveline: "You will not have him!"

Leandra's death.  Talk about a punch in the gut.  (Followed by a spot-on moment with your LI.  Times like that, just knowing someone cares about you can mean the world.)

 

Fenris taking out Hadriana and Danarius.

 

Anders struggling with the realization of what Justice nearly made him do at the end of Dissent.

 

The hostage rescue scene in Best Served Cold.

That Merrill rivalry romance was surprisingly epic. The flowers and butterflies facade dropped fast! Lotta venom in the subsequent conversations.

Hawke: Is it worth restoring this mirror if it turns your clan against you?

Merrill: You know what its like to lose everything everything, Hawke. Not just our land and freedom, but history, stories, language, magic, rituals. Even our gods are gone. It is a scrifice, but if the mirror restores even one fragment of the past, it's worth it.

Hawke: What did the keeper mean, the mirror lead you to blood magic?

Merrill: Aye, the shard I picked up was corrupted. I couldn't cleanse it without help. The keeper refused. She said that it belonged to another time and should be left there. So I found a... spirit. It gave me the power to purify the shard through blood magic.

Hawke: I've... never heard of blood magic purifying anything.

Fenris: Neither have I.

Merrill: There is nothing inherently evil about blood magic. Its magic, like any other. The power that contaminated the mirror was too strong to be driven out by normal means. If I had piles of lyrium laying about I could have used that, but I didn't. I used what I had.

Hawke: Everyone else seems to be terrified of this mirror of yours. Maybe you should be too.

Merrill: You're siding with the Keeper? This is dangerous, yes. But it is restoring something vital to my people. I know what I'm doing Hawke. Give me the Arulin'Holm.

Hawke: I'm keeping this. I can't let you do this this.



Merrill: You're keeping a priceless hierloom of my clan. You have no right. You're not even Dalish. I can't believe you. Why did I trust you? You're just a Shemlen like all the others. I have nothing further to say.

Later at Merrill's house...



Merrill: How could you do that to me! How could you steal a priceless relic of my people. I trusted you!

Hawke: You told me the Eluvian killed someone. You want to rebuild something that dangerous in the middle of Kirkwall?

Merrill: Its not dangerous. I cleansed the curruption. Its only a tool. Its no more good or evil than a hammer or a sword. I can't believe I've been such an idiot believing you would help me. Go! I'd rather be alone.

Still later...



Merrill: Oh may the dread wolf take you, you worthless hunk of glass. It won't work. All the years I've wasted on it, its still a flaming mirror with no reflection. Why have you come? Is it time for another lecture about how reckless I'm being?

Hawke: I care about you Merrill. I wanted to check on you.

Merrill: Just don't. Please don't say you're doing this for my sake. I don't need you, or Marethari, or anyone else to look afer me. I can save my people with this mirror. Just stay out of it!

Hawke: Someone has to be there when this falls apart.

Merrill: Stop trying to save me. I've given up everything to rebuild my people's past, and you just threw my sacrifice in the garbage. Get out of my house. I never want to see you again!

At which point she kicks Hawke out of the house into a fight with the Dog Lords. When Hawke returns home...

Merrill: Hawke, back at my house. I should never have said.... I didn't mean it.

Hawke: I get thrown out of houses so often I hardly even notice it anymore. No harm done.

Merrill: Heh, you know a lot of very stupid girls, do you? I know that you mean well. I just wish.... You can't save me, Hawke, its not worth trying.

Hawke: You sure? I'm getting really good at this "hero" thing.

Merrill: And what makes you think I need a hero? If you stick with me, you and everyone you love will be in danger. Do you understand? I can't bear if anything happens to you because of me.

Hawke: It will be alright, Merrill.

Merrill: Don't save me. Please... just... don't.

Hawke: Merrill, its alright.

I think DA2 has a lot of epic moments same as ME does I think a lort of the ones mentioned here but the fight with the High dragon at the bone pit is pretty epic too.

Leandra's death was probably the most powerful moment in the game. Hit me like a ton of bricks because I never saw it coming. :'( I was terrified Humorous Hawke would be a disaster in that scene, but she was perfect. Isabela showing up afterwards was a nice touch.

While the Arishok battle was completely ridiculous, I did get a case of the feels when Isabela returned with the Tome as I was romancing her. Humorous Hawke had the perfect response, and it was really sweet seeing Aveline stick up for her.

Anders blowing up the Chantry was well depicted drama, a literal "WTF?!!" moment. There's loads of great little scenes but those are my most epic moments.

Ooh, I forgot the respect one. I loved all the Arishok's scenes. Such a shame I was forced to kill him. My Hawke really didn't want to. She didn't really comprehend the Qun of their way of life, but she respected him right back. And she didn't stand for any of Petrice's racist nonsense. It was frustrating that he wouldn't just let Isabela go, but understanding the Qun and his thinking, it was impossible for him to countenance. Another great dramatic moment. Pity his battle was s**t.

Well, this may not qualify as "epic" in the usual sense, but it amused me, so...

 

In Act 2, walking into Anders' clinic for the first time after sleeping with Isabela but WITHOUT her in the active party.

I liked encountering Carver in the finale, "The Hawke brothers together again, huh? Just like old times."

Still whining about being, "Tired of following you," in the fights though, lol.

I have 3:

1- Isabell, breaking in and walking over a dead Qunari (book in hand) at the end of act 2...

2- The boat ride to the Gallows before the final battle

3- The scene after defeating Meredith where Hawke and Cullen just stare at each other for a minute or 2, weapons drawn, then they just stand down and Hawke runs for it, it was like they where telling each other: "we don't have to do this"...

And then my Hawke said he still had her...
