Can I somehow return to Kirkwall and get rid of stuff?

 

In a related subject, I'm also seeing rainbow-colored surfaces at times.

For rainbow surface, try lowering your graphics. For me, anything higher than medium makes the Wounded coast go to Rainbow coast.

 

There is one point of return to Kirkwall. near the end of the Carta Base. There is a griffon statue you can use for teleportation. If you need more potions/bombs, this is the time to stock up. (If you have Mythals favor available, get some of that and save it for the last boss..)

Then there is one chest further in the game where you can switch companions and store your junk, but no going back to Kirkwall.

Thanks, lowering the graphics seems to have done the trick. It's a bit odd seeing as it had never happened before.

 

I also did find the statue that let me return to Kirkwall to sell. Cheers!
