Yeah, it's already been said why this wouldn't work. Same-sex romances, alien romances, Femshep's only viable option would be Kaidan, who can be dead, Femshep was never pregnant and no, her having a child before ME1 that just never gets mentioned would just be beyond terribad. It could be an Asari child, if you romanced Liara, which many people didn't, and I believe the new protagonist is confirmed as human anyway so actually, no - it's not an Asari child.

All that aside the idea is just too cheesy. Tbh I personally want a fresh start and that means moving as far from Shepard as possible, and I can't speak for the devs but I certainly get the impression that's their goal as well. Let dead Spectres lie as they say (nobody says that). Plus, it would rely on ME:Next being set only decades after ME3, which I don't see as possible unless they canonise an ending, which is entirely plausible of course, but it's more likely they'll be as vague as possible in that respect. But distant future seems more likely imo. Since you mentioned cloning, I suppose I wouldn't mind a Big Boss / Solid Snake scenario where they manufactured a soldier based off Shepard, but that's as far as I'd like it to go. Even then it kind of perpetuates the Messiah worship of Shepard, which I've had enough of, myself.

Shep's clone could have been busy before we meet him/her on the Citadel.  Wouldn't that still be the offspring of Shepard...technically?

How about the child of Conrad Verner and Jenna? Conrad Jr./Connie "Shepard" for next protagonist.

The only way i'd go for this for all my various play throughs would be to have Shep be SO special he somehow managed to sire the only male Asari in history and my Tali play throughs would require a conspiracy theory, that involves a creepy hair collection and some sort of tank bred Quarian human hybrid.

Son of Shepard and Subject Zero is a biotic god, a real one this time.

Ash and Shep have the most renegade kid that ever lived.

Miranda is sterile, sadly.

I don't wanna think about Allers.

Cortez can't get pregnant neither can Kaiden.

Traynor needs a hair collection as well.

Chambers?

I think I've said it before: ME4 will be contemporaneous with ME2, with the plot as follows:

ME:Next centers on Conrad Verner, LARPing his way through the Terminus Systems in imitation armor and forming a merc outfit along the way without really grasping what he's done.

Lolwat?  Any BW employee who even raised this idea would be fired on the spot.

Ever notice how the Liaramancers are the only people who ever like this idea when it comes up? I sure as heck don't want it.

That's because we would be playing as Liara 2.0, not Shep Jr.

No inclination towards playing as an Asari and I think Liara has the best romance.

First playthrouh eva: Romanced Ashley in ME1, not romanced anyone in ME2, did something wrong so shepard isnt officially with Ashley. So this wouldn't work for me.

Plus, all "initiations" in ME2 and ME3 are in underwear.

I'm a Liaramancer, and I hate that idea.

Even if we were playing as an Asari protagonist, I'd rather that protagonist have no connection to Shepard or any other character we've previously met.

Protagonist? Highly unlikely...

But as a NPC? Who knows. After all, Bioware included a descendant of Revan and Bastila in TOR...and I have the impression that Theron is rather well liked character.

Since BioWare/EA have become so focused on sexual and social inclusion in their games, I strongly doubt they'd focus on the necessary compatibility and desire for Shepard and LI to have a child, biological or adopted.

Without wishing to stray too far off topic Bioware sexual inclusion while wearing clothes? -well except for Liara but she doesn't count as she is an alien - what IS all that about? Scaredy cat time?

But a 600 year old Shepard scion courtesy of Asari whatevers, is not beyond the bounds of possibility. Who knows? She may even find a way to re-corporate the original from his status as Wakantanka (if you chose control at the end of ME3)

Yeah, Fox News may have spooked them a little during ME1's release. Reactionary folks are a pill.

The ESRB descriptor is a little different for Inquisition, so we'll see where that leads the content.
