Have to say liara having shepards kid would make some sense going by the quality of the endings and also liara did do the whole meld/eye thing with Shepard just before the final battle. Still don't think it would be a good idea just I don't think it would e quite as difficult to pull off as some people think.

I have heard of this rumor as well - and if it is true I don't plan on getting the game.

Considering it's a completely unfounded rumor and since it'd require every Shepard to have produced a child, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I really hope it isn't. I want them to make a new protagonist who is independent of CMDR Shepard.

Given the steamy love scene with Liara and Shep.... Definitely Liara's kid. No "mind rape" required. Wouldn't it be a horrible thing for the game to feature a female protagonist?

I would not mind having Shepards' offspring as a crew member. My Shepards' kid would be half-asian who fashions in black and likes to be sneaky. She/he picked up a lot of traits from her/his lovely mother.

My LI was Steve. See the problem?

Why is this thread still going on?

Also, Samantha, sterile Miranda, Garrus, Thane, Jacob, Tali, Kaidan (maleshep). All don't work.

I'm telling you, this could all work. There will be a reveal that Cerberus had another cell work on a Project Jairus. They took whatever samples they needed from Shepard's corpse during Project Lazarus, mixed them in a tube with some other stuff, and poof, Shepard's genetic offspring.

Shepard can turn down that meld, actually. I know mine did. It was a theory here for a while that "preserving a piece" was actually the whole reason she offered to do it, regardless of if you romanced her or not, which (I'm sorry to say) I wouldn't put past her.

The only way they could make it mandatory that Shepard have offspring, without canonizing any particular LI, would be if Liara impregnated herself during one of the required melds in ME1's debriefings and didn't tell anyone about the kid. Which would be beyond creepy.

Oh. Woops. I meant Jairus, as in the dude from the Bible. Jesus brought his daughter back to life so I though there was some symmetry there. Project Mary sounded too on the nose.

If you don't talk to Liara at all in the game, except for cutscenes, she will not offer the gift. For me or at least my femshep, Liara is ignored at the FOB.

The only time one of my Shepards committed to that was JayneShep. Ignored Garrus for the rest of the game after Garrus shot Ashley (romanced in ME1) on the Citadel. Didn't congratulate him and Tali when he stumbled in on them either, just turned and walked away. Invented a bit of my own drama in that playthrough by shunning him.

I was surprised there was no option to be resentful of Garrus in dialogue after that happened. Talking at the memorial wall, your only options were basically "it's my fault, don't blame yourself" and "it was her fault, don't blame yourself."

Oh Garrus, that guy you can hate all the way through ME1, and then you're outta your mind happy to see him on Omega.

Like Cell from Dragonball Z? Just imagine it - the biotics of Jack, the strength of Grunt, the dress sense of Thane, the singing ability of Mordin, the prize of Jacob, and the Renegade interrupts of Shepard. Unstoppable.

Don't forget Miranda's assets!

Missed opportunities, having Shepard resent squadmates for that, having squadmates resent Shepard for other actions. If, say, EDI is the one to pull the trigger on the VS, I don't think there's any dialogue with her acknowledging it at all. Garrus is the only one that I'm aware of who talked about it, and as I noted it's pretty much on rails that you don't hold him accountable.

They (sort of) did this with Joker post-Thessia, giving the opportunity for animosity to build between them, but again, Shepard is railroaded to chew him out for his joke.
