This game is making me really concerned after.. wait I haven't played it yet so maybe I should just wait until it's out until I base my opinions off someone elses.

I'm sorry, but we don't tolerate such sensible and fair points of view here, like, waiting until the game is out before forming an opinion? who does that? Monsters... That's who.

Just let the lorewriters look at the combat movements and say yes\no. That would solve plenty.

actually combat is the least of my concern:

1) How does demon possession actually work- weak veil, while you are sleeping, forced, accidental summoning, etc etc etc

2) Who what when where and how are the rules of bloodmages and blood magic

3) Do Dalish all hate humans or only some humans? Are they peaceful hippies or racist butchers and bigots?

4) How does blight disease work

5) Do templars need lyrium

6) Are all mages in the towers, or do we have Mortalasti and mercenary mages running around in the open?

7) Have the towers always been like they are recently portrayed or is the evil templar a new phase?

Seriously, there is a lot of stuff they need to clean up from the first two games and all the books.

Love 3.5, we skipped 4 and are now playing 5th. All the books aren't out yet, so we'll see.

Actively playing 2, and no plans to ever downgrade to wotc.  one skim through each of their editions core books was more than enough.

So is the 'nobody notices that you are a Quinari mage', sort of like how 'nobody notcied that Shepard was a biotic in Mass Effect'? lol

It is noticed in story moments, and some quest people. The horsemaster apparently says some less then good things about Qunari if you are one and says that he expects your feet to drag the ground when you ride a horse.  Apparently if you are a dwarf when you go to Val Royuex to address the chantry one of the Orlesian women screams when she sees a dwarf...one can only imagine if you are a Qunari.

Ed is doing the foreword for a new setting I am involved in making, actually.

That's pretty cool. I like Pathfinder, but have always been partial to Forgotten Realms, simply because I grew up in it.

Same here. But I don't recognize the realms anymore.

Bah I was a G.U.R.P.S. player myself.  dilly dalied with D&D, but never got into a regular game.  May thats why I like Fallout so much.

I very much enjoyed DAO, and still do. There are aspects that I do not like, but as long as the parts I enjoy outweigh the parts I do not enjoy, it's all good.

I suspect it will be the same with DAI. Don't worry too much, OP. DAI will not be perfect. There will be flaws whether objective or subjective flaws. But overall it looks like it's gonna be pretty good fun.

When you practically start a video by saying "This ain't Jim Beam! like Origins!", it's pretty obvious you're not gonna be impressed, since you were expecting something else.

I don't want biased reviews, when they are out, i want people that actually list the pros, list the cons, and let you decide if it's worth it.

So people will notice that you are a Quinari (etc), but will they notice that you are Saarebas? That is my question.

You aren't a Saarebas.  Your magic is the same as tower/apostate/dalish magic. Saarebas have an entirely different form of magic.

Now, if your point is do they notice if you are a mage, the area they were in had mages running around all over the place, so you would hardly stick out in that regard and if you start killing the people gutting and burning everyone, then they probably don't care.

Saarebas is simply the Qunari term for mage, one that few people outside of the Qun will know.

And yes, people will notice you're a mage. In the convo with Viviene during the Skyhold stream, Vivienne talked to you as a fellow mage when elaborating on the mage/templar war.

First, you are not a Saarebas. Second, I doubt most of Thedas know that Qunari called their leashed mages Saarebas.

Just... kinda popping in to add my two cents. I don't think there's anything wrong with expressing doubts, or expressing excitement. Both are valid, and while debate is welcome, dismissing either side as wining or idiocy seems kinda harsh.

The only quote I could find about this is this quote:

Does this mean that Bioware no longer makes rpgs, but action-adventures like say Uncharted? or Tomb Rader? I'm asking because to me it seems Bioware is removing themselves more and more from their rpg roots.....

I'm not against change, when it is meaningfull and creative. However, to me it seems that Bioware really has looked towards Skyrim and decided to do what Skyrim did - in order to sell as many copies of the game as possible. Probably thinking that many of the players that played Skyrim back in 2011-2012 will now buy DA: Inquisition. However, I'm not so sure about this....

Have you even played Skyrim? If so, you should know right off the bat that DAI isn't  Bioware's Skyrim. Not even close.

Well the Qunari should know. In terms of Quanri logic, you are a Saarebas. I just hope that those who do know will react appropriately (in terms of lore) to the person before them. That is all.

Though, in this case, you are not simply a mage . You are a Koseth (who are predominantly  Quanari) mage, and there are different cultural and social elements that should be recognized by characters (at least I would think so).

In terms of Qunari logic, any mage is a Saarebas. Even Orsino was called one. Qunari see no difference between their Saarebas and ours, aside from the fact that ours aren't leashed and thus more dangerous.

David Gaider stated that you don't use Qunari magic. You cast spells the same as other mages in the games. He says Qunari have a completely different form of magic.

You are a kossith. Qunari follow the Qun. You will still be called a qunari though.

As a Tal-Vashoth though, you inherited few of the Qunari social differences. Very likely none in regards the Qunari magecraft, add to this that all the way in the south there would be virtually no people aware of these cultural and social elements and I would think it safe to say we won't see it acknowledged.

I agree it would be interesting, but I would not count on it.

My impression on this video:

1)These guys don't know to play!(it's pretty much just charge in)

2)These guys really don't know to play!(who charges with their rouge in front battle...that is warriors job)

3)These guys don't bother much with trying to play!(entire video proofs it so)

4)In all cases these guys don't actually play at all!(Need a say more)

So if I'm going to watch good and real game review then I'm going to watch these after game launches  ;).
