Incorrect. In dragon age the last flight, 30 years is said to have been an extremely long time to not have succumbed to the calling. On average 20 is the time it takes.

Personally I'd hoped they'd be the Elder One. That they'd show up from the mist and start singing The Stand during a massive bossfight where half the previous characters in the game who you've been happily collecting betray you to side with their old buddy and you have to cut them down with great regret.
But, that won't happen. So, for my Warden at least, I think either dead, or simply coming into Leliana's room one day to have a chat with her and finding her room wrecked and her looking strangely pleased with herself. With no further explanation. But I will know why...
Just a mention here and there would be fine. It is not even a must. The warden isn't tied to this story at all, it seems, so not much need to bring him\her up.
the warden is EXTREMELY tied to this story. ALL HIS FRIENDS ARE MAIN CHARACTERS. HIS ROMANCE IS A MAIN CHARACTER.
*sigh*

That makes him indirectly tied to the story. Not directly.

There are always exceptions to a rule, who says our warden is an exception?

No. Zevran, possibly alistair, Wynne, Dog, possibly Sten are not main characters. Onky Morrigan and leilana romances are main characters.
That makes him indirectly tied to the story. Not directly.
We will be dealing with the Grey Wardens. Our Warden was a Commander, the highest ranked Warden in a country
Actually I hope there will be dialogues with Blackwall discussing our PC. They must be very famous among the Wardens, alive or dead
That makes him indirectly tied to the story. Not directly.
*saves the world. makes a god baby and gets with a guy. leaves with him. he disappears*

*gets with the warden. pledges life to him. pledge to follow him to the end of the earth* (leliana)

You're right. that's plausible. Absolutely no need for a mention, or to tie up the ends of the best game in the series that everyone wants to know.

Clearly, I was exaggerating to make a point. I'm sure allistair will be in the game too though.

It's pretty ridiculous that even our LIs have a play in the conflict but I guess our Wardens don't care about their beloved anymore

He doesn't fit into this storyline. The warden is tied to the blight and the darkspawn. This story is a lot more tied to the Chantry, the mages and politics. The wardens do stay out of politics.
I think in a different story, possibly in DA4, he might show up. I am sure you would agree that it would be way better to tie him into a story where he would have lots more to do.
I know. But you asked me how I would like them to return.
Undead Warden, Bioware. Make it DLC.
Or play as the wardens love interest

Clearly, you did not play DA:O
that ENTIRE GAME was politics, followed by a knife in a dragon.
He does fit, because his friends and lovers are main characters. Period.
Also, the inquisitor meets the wardens and everything mentioned earlier, and as commander, he'd have a role. As well, he would want to save the world from doom, I'm sure.
But I didn't ask for him to physically appear. I just want my answers.

The entire games was to get allies to fight the Blight. Simple as that. Ending the Blights was the only goal. Duncan explains it a few times that the Wardens stay out of the affairs of others, and politics. The only purpose of the Warden organization is to fight darkspawn and stop blights. In order to stop a blight they need allies. So in a blight scenario, politics, in some form, will be needed.

I want him to die the wardens that are still alive, either in the eluvian or the deeproads or somewhere. How they deal with the Orlesian Warden? I dunno, the same way? I just feel that the longer the Warden isnt tied in a nice bow or at least handcuffed to some task that makes it impossible to interact with thedas, we will always see complaints about "my warden". All I can think, at this point, is he needs to die.
That's it? Really?
I made one playthrough in which my Warden romanced Lelianna and died fighting the Archdemon because I hoped there would be some drama, some tragedy. Heck, originally she killed herself due to the pain of loss
And all we'll get... is one line?
Yep, ****** diappointing
Maybe you should wait until the reviews come out or the game before making a knee jerk response and getting angry over something that they cant talk about yet.
The reviewer could have chosen not to put that in, but they were demonstrating the import function.
Inquisitor: So what happened to The Hero of Fereldan?
Leliana: Which one?
Inquisitor: The one you travelled with.
Leliana: Again. Which one?
Inquisitor: The Grey Warden.
Leliana: You mean Alistair? He's in a spot of bother. Being King of Fereldan is hard work.
Inquisitor: What about the other Warden?
Leliana: You mean Riordan? He passed away.
Inquisitor: Oh my goodness Leliana! The famous Grey Warden who was briefly Commander of The Grey Wardens. The one who solved just about every crisis in Fereldan and slew the Arch Daemon!
Josephine: Excuse me Leliana. We need to talk! Now!
Leliana: Sorry. I have important business to attend to. Perhaps another time.
[Confronts Morrigan]
Inquisitor: So what happened to The Hero of Fereldan?
Morrigan: Which one?
Inquisitor: The Great Hero of Fereldan!
Morrigan: There are many Great Heroes of Fereldan! Could you be more specific?
Inquisitor: The famous Grey Warden who recently slew the Arch Daemon!
Morrigan: You mean Oghren?
Inquisitor: No! The other Grey Warden!
Cullen: Excuse me Morrigan. We have a delicate matter that needs discussing.
Player: What!? You've got to be kidding me!

I dont expect much, due to the fans and well due to it being BioWare
Hmm...well...I decided that my Warden was romanced to Morrigan...had the old god baby..and went with her through the eluvian. So I most certainly hope that at least some of that is brought up when the Inquisitor runs in Morrigan...I would love if they tease it out, and throughout the course of the game we slowly learn more about what happened to the Warden..through Morrigan...
All in all...it should be very interesting to see how they bring it up, but I will be disappointed if they don't...although I do have a little dream...that the Warden will have his/her own DLC...maybe an expansion or something...
that would be like saying that doctors who is tied to saving lives is not allowed vote in a election.
Besides if they are not bringing a good story and reference to warden now they probably never will involve the warden ever again.
Read up on the Warden lore, and I am sure you will see how very very different from a common job it is.
I never said he shouldn't be mentioned or talked about. I said I can fully understand, from a story point of view, that the warden being involved wouldn't really make sense.

You're wrong though. If the story includes your lover and friends and them you disappear, it must include you by association. This is simple.
Leliana would not say "I pledged to stand by this guy forever, but... meh.. **** it, I'll do other things and never think about it again"
DA:O was all politics. You chose the king of ferelden yourself- and orzammar. so on. You are not an average warden. You do not follow a code which states
"Thou shalt disappear and never be mentioned by your friends or lovers.
Thou shalt never aid the world against a huge tear in the veil that is destroying the world.
Thou shalt not get involved in mage/templar conflicts.
Thou shalt only ever kill darkspawn and never do anything else"
P.s. the wardens and corpheous (the architect. Idk how his name is spelt) are both in DA:I, i believe.

So that's what you divined from my statement? How is that even remotely relevant?

The warden was a recruit, remember? Both him and Alistair had very very little knowledge about being a Warden at all.
The politics in the game, was 90 percent about the blight. The King of Ferelden bit happened because Alistair's bloodline. Simple as that. That whole case was an extreme and unusual scenario.
Leliana can still stand by her Warden forever. In this case, **** really hit the fan, and she is out doing her job. The Warden might be doing the very same thing in a different part of the world during Inquisition. Since the warden will be mentioned in the game, I am pretty sure we will get an explanation. I suspect the Warden is tied to whatever Stroud was upto in DA2, actually. He was very hush hush about the whole thing.
So that's what you divined from my statement? How is that even remotely relevant?
Warden has a history of saving the world and getting involved in all kind of epic **** and disasters
It's hard to believe they would not be involved in saving the world from falling apart
Especially if you know the spoilers...
