After watching a recent trailer for Dragon Age: Inquisition I've become somewhat curious.

In every game that gives us any level of choice...no matter what choices we make, it is possible to either upset everyone or no-one. So I'm wondering do you guys think this will still be possible in Inquisition?

To put it simply; is it possible to keep everyone happy, or will you always upset someone to the point of making them standing against the Inquisition?

Im happy if we can have an intelligent discussion with the main villain (Discussion not monologue), and get the option to side with him/her
I find it INFURIATINGLY STUPID that main characters of games cannot join the antagonist.

Spoiler

Mike Laidlaw said the bad guys could win, the real question is then - does that mean you dying, or joining / replacing the villain?

Can I romance it? If I can't romance it I'll have to cancel my pre-order.

Kinda curious - for those who want to be all "end of the world" - would you also be unhappy that the choice will so obviously be retconned?

The Elder One likes it rough ;)

To the OP: I'm guessing it will be possible to befriend every companion, since it was doable in the previous two games *shrugs*

The Breach can't be sealed, you have three options:

Destroy the Fade but it will render every mage Tranquil.

Control the Fade. The Inquisitor will become the new Maker but be trapped in the Black City for eternity.

Merge the Fade and Thedas. Everyone become possessed by spirit or demons.

Man, that's like the easiest decision ever.

I wouldn't put it past them to offer you the choice to side with the Elder One instead of siding with a Maker who never obviously puts in an appearance.

It would be giving you the choice between a deity that is very definitely there and quite probably not a very nice one, but you get to serve as his high priest/chosen one and use the Inquisition to enforce the new order. It would allow you to also destroy the Chantry which so many want to do.

On the other side, you side against the Elder One, but you don't get to destroy the Chantry and you don't all that power and you are siding with (even if you don't directly support him as an agent) a Maker who never seems to put in an appearance and may or may not exist. Remember, they said they'd never actually confirm the existence one way or the other of either the Maker or Andraste. You can use the Inquisition then for other purposes.

Varic and Cassandera turn to each other as the Inquisitor rides of into the sunset and Casandera asks..

" Who was that masked..(ADD GENDER HERE) ?"

Varic answeres " that was no (ADD GENDER HERE) that was the LONE (ADD RACE HERE)"

then you get the Wiliam Tell oviture.

I don't see keeping everyone alive or happy happening in most true rpg playthroughs.

I suppose you could get lucky, but it's unlikely; 90% sure you'll ****** someone off to the point of hating you, leaving, or both.

I'm fairly certain that such a choice would be similar to Mass Effect 2's total death ending where Shepard dies. It's not retconned, it's just a "what-if". I kinda like this approach myself.

Am I a immature child if I don't want to debate ideologies and philosophies with The Elder One and just stab him multiple times?

Hmm... I wonder if we'll be given that choice, and it turns out to be a Dragon Age version of this:
