It ends with Thedas blanketed in warm golden light. There is a tranquility and peace to the universe as Dumat rules over all of creation once more.
Perfect Ending.

It most likely would be a elaborate game over screen like the ME2 ending where everyone but Joker dies or the Refusal ending.
Honestly, I am fine with making a few endings non-canonical if it means we can get some more player choice in individual installments. If you could join the Elder One and become some super evil force; that'd be amazing. I'd love an option like that even if it can't get carried over to the next game because you ostensibly broke Thedas.

No drama = no fun. Might as well play COD.
Of course, someone is gonna be pissed. That's the whole point of BW games. If you don't have tears in your eyes at some point you ain't playing the game right. Or you are just heartless.

the bad guys should win just this once. pleeeeeease
The developers mentioned that there is a Ending where the Elder One wins and everyone will die.
However, that is only for players that did not play their cards right and let the fade destroy the world.

It'd be hilarious if it was like Star Control 2, and if you spend too much time doing side quests eventually the Elder One wins.

If you want to see the world burn... then this ending is not defined as failure but reaching your goal.
Very accurately put, well done.
You sit down with the Elder One over some tea and buscuits and come to a mutual understanding and the aggression ends. Everyone is happy and ride rainbow farting unicorns off into the sunset.
This is now the canon ending. I don't care what Bioware does, this is now the official canon.
EPIC DANCE OFF.
The bad guy just got served some ownage. yall

I for one will avoid that ending...unless it gets me a trophy.

I've nothing against it either. In fact I'm a big fan of elaborate game over screens. They are more fun than the usual "Your journey ends here" screen.

not worried about the ending, its been confirmed we can keep playing once the main story is over and I highly doubt the DA team is going to make the same mistake the ME team made with ME 3.

Plottwist, The Inquisitor was being mindcontrolled by the elder one all along. Your hand can be used to empower the rifts instead of closing them. At the end of the game, your hand is powerful enough to close it, but you betray everyone and instead empower the breach further, thus destroying the veil permanently. ![]()

Honestly don't care how it ends as long as after the credits we don't get a "buy dlc" popup.

Indeed. You can have the most horrible depressing ending ever. But what BSN has taught me is that none of that matter. Just make sure I'm with my waifu.
