Hey all,

I've just spent about three hours happily tinkering with the Keep and getting my world state just right. I just noticed that in the top right of the screen, the writing beside the little world icon says "Default World State", but having checked out the FAQs in the DA Keep "how-to" forum I think it ought to say "Active World State". In the menu that opens up when you click the world icon, "Default World State" is the only thing listed under "Saved World States". I have only created this one world state so far, so does this just mean it is the default world state for me (i.e., the one that will be uploaded to Inquisition in the first instance), or does this mean that I am still using a generic "default" world state, even though I have just manually entered all my choices over both games? It seems to be saving my changes, as it says "a few seconds ago" underneath which I assume means that was the last time it saved my choices...?

Sorry if I'm being really dense here - it's just the wording that's confusing me because to me "default" implies a generic world state with no customisation. I really don't want to lose all the changes I've made once I log out...

Thanks for your help!

It just means that´s the world you are currently using for everything, if you click on the world image some more options will show, you can go to "saved world states" and click on the plus to create up to 9 different world states.

It starts you with the default world state, which I assume is what you have if you start Inquisition without importing a world state. Just go to the world icon and save a new world state with the name you want.

That's just the title of your world state, the default (first) world state of the Keep, doesn't mean much.  You can change the name.

To add to what everyone said, the way the world state was before you altered anything is simply the world state people will play that don't change anything and/or make a new one. DA:I still needs to draw it's world state data from the Keep for those non Keep users, hence why the default world state exists.

In your case you simply havn't renamed it yet.

A worldstate is baked into the game for those who cant access the internet or didn't export one

Just as a matter of interest, not that it affects anything (at least I don't think it does!), is the World State "baked into the game" the same as the Tapestry's default "New World State 1"?

I kind of assume it should be, but does anyone know for sure?

Well the default is a Dalish elf who died killing the AD, Alistair and Anora rule (no idea about Loghain) while Hawke is a mage.

It's a rather bleak world so as to not confuse new people about un-resolved plot line.

Having a look at the keep, I think they are the same

Yeah, I think so, too. Or at least I think it makes sense for them to be.

I believe someone posed a similar question during one of the Twitch streams. Unfortunately, the question used the word "canon" so, instead of a straight answer, the presenters proceeded to tie themselves up in knots in an effort to avoid saying what was canon and what was not in case someone subsequently took issue with it. Well, you know how rabid DA-gamers can be!   ;)

It's sort of like the star wars canon, where it has different levels. Some things in the books are, but you still get to choose/ignore it

In the last twitch stream they said that the default Keep world state would be the one imported into DAI for people who don't have their own. I assume they meant 'New World State 1'.

Awesome, thanks everyone! I thought that would be the case. I didn't realise I could rename it though, that's useful to know. Clears up the wording issue!

You can rename it and set a custom description. Makes it easier to decide what to do
