Fans have asked for something they would like to see in a forum Bioware specifically created for people to post about things fans would like to see. No one has "taken over". No one is "petitioning". No one is demanding. Find me one place the OP has done any of that?

No one has banned free speech, or free expression. No one has tried too. A few people just posted about something they would like to see.

Wellllll people have been threadbanned for saying anti-PC things on here.  You can't say they haven't.  As an anarchist I'm for free speech and letting the people sort it out using social pressure, not moderation but then as a voluntarist I'm probably a minority.

I believe in people.  I think any two people, that is Sandal and American Psycho, over coffee could talk and work things out.  It is the system telling you that it's impossible, the system wearing us down until we think we're helpless and disenfranchised from each other.

Even a huge ****** like me can be moved by a one on one.

Yes, and LGBT people want............... Equality.

Edit:

Sorry for twerking all over your thread Hanako.

I owe you one.

Um......

You can talk about anything you want in my KISA thread.  Anything. It could be total BS and I'd be fine with it.

I'm going to give her $5 to say Dorian is a KISA.

When you want to force people to like and accept you, or tolerate you, or be polite to you, or have more of your sexuality's characters in the media or a game or whatever, you want entitlement. When members of anti-racist groups say insulting or disliking racial minorities is bigotry, then proceed to insult Whites, that's entitlement. It's why you're much more likely to get banned here for saying something like "I hate gays" than you are for saying "I hate straights". Because of forced entitlement.

The real world's an awful place. People are assholes to everyone. We've all been an ******* to someone. Just because you prefer the same sex's genitalia does not give you any right to deserve to be treated differently or better than anyone else. People are dicks and will treat you, I, and everyone else here like one for any and all or no reason at all. It will happen, it is life, and no one, not straights, not homosexuals, not transsexuals, NO ONE deserves any better than what anyone else already gets.

That. Is. Entitlement.

I usually find people saying they are "anti-PC" really mean they want to insult a minority group and tell them they aren't as important, so yes, I've seen people banned for that.

Nitpicking, but this isn't really a freedom of speech issue. No one's rights are infringed upon if a more sensitive audience is triggered into action over something you may have said. Dr. Laura tried to push this idea when she lost her radio program over her n-word rant, but that lady was wrong.

Okay I think Dr. Laura was an AIPAC nutjob but at the same time people who never watched her show removed the option for the nutjobs who did to listen to her.  It wasn't HER audience calling in complaining.

That's just not cool, although it can be done.  It would be like straight people calling the companies who advertise for RPDR and trying to get them to pull all sponsorship so the show goes off the air even though the people listening/watching love it.

It's like...let people do their own thing.  Govern yourself and what you listen to.  I won't listen to her, will you?

It doesn't matter if they do.

Freedom of speech does not end where another's feelings begin.

Harassment and such is different, but perceived "insults" or dislike is PROTECTED by free speech.

Uhh, I feel like I should pitch in and mention that from an outside perspective this thread seems to have already derailed from its initial topic so you may want to move this discussion to a different thread or create a new thread before this one gets locked down because of it.

I am actually quite surprised this thread has survived so far.

1 - Yes, you do have to be polite to people. You will get banned for being rude to other people no matter what the topic is. Has nothing to do with LGBT issues.

2 - FORCING people to create the content you want is wrong. ASKING politely on an internet forum is not.

3 - Yep the world sucks. Instead of accepting that, I prefer to believe people can be better. Believe it or not, I interact with many people on a daily bases who are NOT assholes. Which I think is pretty good proof that people don't HAVE to be shitty. :)

I usually find people saying they are "anti-PC" really mean they want to insult a minority group and tell them they aren't as important, so yes, I've seen people banned for that.

How do you usually find that without statistical data?

I've fucked girls and guys.  I've taken more drugs than the Grateful Dead.  I've dated pretty much all races.  I've practiced yoga, taken Gung Fu and sucked at it.  Lived with a drag queen and helped him do his makeup.  I've hitchhiked from VA to Maine.  I pretty much am up and open for all things.

I believe in 100% freedom to say, do, and live as you want.

I believe in someone's right to call me a lesbo and my right to say "suck a dick".  I don't have a right to not be offended.  I have the right to say "eat my shorts" and even to take the Buddha path and do nothing but bless them and move on.

At a certain point we have to realize that we are our own experience in this world and our dharma is our own.

Do I want to marginalize or make people feel inferior?  Hell to the no.  No one is superior to anyone else because we are all One, we are all part of the Wholly Other, we are all leaves of the same tree.

At the same time, words for bad or good, are a way of learning about and challenging ourselves.  When someone says the C-word around me, something that used to upset me to no end, I now have the opportunity to learn something about myself with how I deal with it.

Yes, because people should be content with being disliked, hated, physically attacked, jailed, even killed , and denied rights that othersw have over something that they have no control over.

Let's bring it back to media and Dragon Age.  Your sexuality is everywhere.  It's "normal".  But what if it wasn't?  How would you like it if people constantly told you to that you were a whiny entitled SJW for merely wanting to see people like you represented in media?

So you are tired of LGBT people wanting to be treated the same as everyone else?  No, dear, it's not about entitlement. That's just you trying to belittle the push for equality and to turn it into something that is threatening to 'take over' every facet of society etc.   Your previous comments of "shoving their sexuality down my throat" is telling.  If I drank, then I would have taken a shot after reading that.

LGBT themes are not "taking over" Dragon Age.  The games are still about fighting evil and saving the world. BioWare is merely telling the type of stories they want to tell.

how exactly should this equality you talk about look like? Should we all strip letter to our foreheads -one of lgbth (h-hetero)? Heterosexuals don't talk about their sexuality with each other cos why should they? It's the cry of minor part of lgbt that yells "I am different, I want equality!". If a society was made of 96% of American citizens and 4% of let's say Asians (or whatever), this minority could hardly push forward for second official language or bilingual schools. You can hardly expect that 50% of relationships in game would be from lgbt group (equals!!!). There is no discrimination against any sexual orientation within the game and that is your share of equality...

True but I'll admit I have been over the idea of including every subcategory and very hostile and bitchy this whole thread so you can be angry with me, too.  :(

I think there are more "Furries" than "Demisexuals" so seriously at what point do they call it a day on pleasing everyone?  We will never get a new game at this rate.

Yes, I'm an evil horrid person.  I admit to that.

Oh god. No, BioWare. Don't include furries. Please don't include furries. XD

He would not.  No one would.  Gays have a right to want to be in games, movies, etc.  Straights too, women too, blacks too, and so on.

We're all good people here.  I believe that.  If we could discuss this and get somewhere just once, and really talk and understand each other it could spread.

Helvescient, Sandal aint heavy, he's your brother.

Sandal, Helvescient is part of the Maker, too.

((whips out guitar))

Come on people now, smile on your brother everybody get together and try to love one another right now.

Um, can you not be so heavy-handed with Sandal?  I don't know him well but he's got good vibes and I'm trying to be the Buddha here.

Heterosexuals do talk about sexuality every time a Hooters commercial comes on or they see Leo DiCaprio and mention how they want to be him.

I think demisexuality could be quite interesting to have in a game. I could see people misinterpreting it and thinking a character isn't an option because the character says they are not interested in the PC at the start.

I'm curious how it would work in terms of a romance. If you require to be close to someone before anything romantic happens, surely that content would be part of the normal friendship content. So the romance would be later in the game. Would the romance content be uneven, and only exist in the second half of the game? Or would their be extra "friendship" content towards the start that only happens if you try to flirt?

I'm all for it though! Would be fun to play.

You'd skip a game because of an optional romance that takes up about 1% of the content?
